51 servicemen and women have been killed in Iraq this month-26 in the last week alone, 3137 since this illegal war began. Reports are out that the medical services these brave men and women face when they return are grossly underfunded.The families of these brave men and women live near poverty-especially the National Guard and Reservists-while their love one is deployed…only to have deployments extended. The troops STILL do not have all the up-armored vehicles and body armor that they need. The Democrats have been in power 6 weeks, and in that time have tried to do something to end this insanity, with complete resistance from Republican lawmakers. These Republican hypocrites state they won’t vote on anything that doesn’t fund the troops, and yet they sent these soldiers to battle on the cheap for the last 5 years. Get off your self-righteous soapbox and do something to help our troops. You are all such big fans of “Support our Troops” ribbons-why not try actually SUPPORTING the troops for once in your political career.

13. Ok, here goes an attempt:

"Mission Accomplished"
In a mere matter of weeks our troops entered Iraq, deposed Saddam, ensured there were no WMD, and we sustained very few casualties in that brief endeavor.

The job and mission were clear to our troops, and they did it well. Had we assembled a true coalition of countries before going in than perhaps things would not have turned out to be what they are - a death trap for our young people. They are in the middle of an age old war amongst rival factions, and once the glue was removed all hell broke loose. You cannot win a war when there are no viable enemies - the people of Iraq are not the enemy, but they are still the ones inflicting great harm upon our troops there.

Unless you are prepared for a wholesale slaughter of all those in this fight it will continue to drag on. Our troops are now just a target, one of many, between warring factions.

I support our troops - that is why I want them back home and safe and doing the job we hired them for: DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY --- not dying in someone else's for oil companies. Prove to me Iraq is a threat to this country right now, and I will support them staying. Good luck with that.

just because I want you all to know you CAN be heard




President Bush says we will be in Iraq beyond his presidency. He tells us we will be there until victory is achieved but cannot tell us what victory is.

My son is home on leave for the first time in 18 months. He has been to Afghanistan once and Iraq twice. He is 21 and has the empty, soulless eyes of someone who has seen too much. He talks vaguely of killing. He tells of recovering tanks and Humvees still drenched with his buddies' blood. When he did guard duty, he told me, "Don't worry, Mom, we aim low with the kids."

Nine in his unit have been medically discharged with post-traumatic stress syndrome – and these are mechanics.

If you still believe in this president and this war, choose which of your children will be the next to go.

I lost a part of my son over there. That's all you get, America.
