James Murdoch, the son of Rupert Murdoch, will on Friday become probably the most powerful individual in the British media.
It will be announced that he is taking control of News Corporation's operations in the UK, Europe and Asia.
He will run News Corp's UK newspapers, including the Sunday Times, the Times and the Sun, its Italian TV operation, and Asian satellite TV arm, Star TV.

So {the board of British Sky Broadcasting} has taken the controversial decision, against British corporate governance best practice, to appoint him as non-executive chairman, in succession to Rupert Murdoch.
British investment institutions dislike chief executives becoming chairmen of their respective companies.
