The overall gist of is was that we, as nation, are approaching an economic tipping-point where we are no longer able to finance our military presence around the globe. At one point he mentioned how, if we crash economically, there will probably be a severe recession for a year or so, at which point the rest of the world would move on while we linger in an economic haze for considerably longer. While he didn't think that would necessarily be the worst thing in world to have happen, I'm far more concerned about what could happen at that point if the Bushies are in charge at that point. Then again, I also have strong suspicions that bankrupting and destroying this country has been part of the agenda of the far-Rightists that have taken over the GOP in the past couple of decades.
