After this election, we need to hit the "off" button for a while.
Folks, we've been in campaign mode since the last election. As a result, the nation is constantly divided, everyone is at each other's throats all the time, and nothing reasonable can actually get accomplished because of it. We need get through this godawful election of 2008, and then the nation needs a collective breather. You can't heal a wound when you keep it fresh.

1. At the same time you cannot take your eye off the ball and go back to
sleep... Even with a Dem in the White house, we need to make sure they roll back some of the abusive powers... I'd really like them to hold this last admin. accountable for the crimes they've committed... sweeping things under a rug keeps certain people always lying in wait to pop back up later on... Look at the Bush Co. admin.. most of them were back in the day thugs that surrounded themselves around Nixon, bailed on him at impeachment, and with a pardon--people were protected that should be sitting in jail now...

3. Yup, which is why we need to get rid of a whole lot of incumbents.
Both sides.

4. While I agree with the desire, I cannot agree with the action.
I would love to switch off for a few years, but they are not going to. After switching off in the 90s we got DOMA, the telecom bill, the contract on america, and all the other crap that we are experiencing the results of today.

Evil never sleeps.

We can't afford to, either.

5. Depends. If they cheat again there will be no off. I want a legitimately elected President this
time out, and if it doesn't happen, I'm going to riot.
