Imus anchor on Palestinians: "Stinking animals. They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now"

MSNBC's Imus in the Morning offered derisive, racist commentary about Palestinians during the November 12 funeral of deceased Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat. Regular Imus guest and sports anchor Sid Rosenberg referred to Palestinians as "stinking animals" and suggested: "They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now." On November 19, the program broadcast a radio segment featuring a guest -- parodying General George S. Patton, Jr. -- who said that the recent report of a U.S. Marine shooting an unarmed, injured Iraqi insurgent provided the enemy "with another cozy 'al Jazeera moment' for the Muslim masses to respond to with their routine pack-of-rabid-sheep mentality." The guest also referred to a deceased Iraqi insurgent as "a booby-trapped raghead cadaver."

From the November 12 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning:

DON IMUS, host: They're {Palestinians} eating dirt and that fat pig wife of his is living in Paris.

ROSENBERG: They're all brainwashed, though. That's what it is. And they're stupid to begin with, but they're brainwashed now. Stinking animals. They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now.

BERNARD MCGUIRK, producer: You can just imagine standing there.

ROSENBERG: Oh, the stench.

1. Sid Rosenberg?
Maybe if the sports guy had been of Arabic descent and said something similar about the Jews in Palestine/Israel the race-hate would've gotten more media attention at the time (which was 3+ years ago, BTW)?

And the Patton thing was satire, through and through. That "guest" was Rob Bartlett, a comedian, and a regular on Imus. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Bartlett

Why would mediamatters be picking through 3+ year old comedy routines and sports commentary? They're drudging for material unfavorable to Imus because some people's panties are in a wad over his return to the airwaves. My advice for those people is the same as it ever was... don't like it? Turn it off. Not liking something gives a person no right to suppress it.

4. What did you think would change? Saint Imus?
Here's the transcript from April to remind you further what his show is all about:

Imus: So, I watched the basketball game last night between - a little bit of Rutgers and Tennessee, the women's final.

Rosenberg: Yeah, Tennessee won last night - seventh championship for Pat Summitt, I-Man. They beat Rutgers by 13 points.

Imus: That's some rough girls from Rutgers. Man, they got tattoos and - McGuirk: Some hard-core hos.

Imus: That's some nappy-headed hos there. I'm gonna tell you that now, man, that's some - woo. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like - kinda like - I don't know.

McGuirk: A Spike Lee thing.

Imus: Yeah.

McGuirk: The Jigaboos vs. the Wannabes - that movie that he had.

Imus: Yeah, it was a tough -

McCord: "Do The Right Thing."

8. thanks but I don't need any reminding of anything imus
actually

the nappy haired hos comment was the vehicle that they used to take him down but his calling for the impeachment and hanging of bush/cheney is what really done him in though, so don't forget that
