How long do you think Karl Rove will last as a Newsweek columnist?
Based on the revisionist history he's been telling, and being refuted by senior members of Bush's staff, will Newsweek drop him as a columnist? Do they care about being a credible news magazine? Or are they enjoying the controversy?

BTW, I'm assuming Rove has some kind of contract with Newsweek. Can they still drop him, buy out the contract?

1. Not long, nor will his career be a prolific one
This is a bone they threw to him while he's lawyered up and shaking in his Gucci loafers because of the perfect legal storm starting to swirl: Plame, vote caging, attorney firings, and probably a dozen other things we haven't figured out yet.

There will be a few ideas he'll toss out that will be ghost written by some underpaid Newsweek staffer who's on the shit list that week.

Remember, Rove is not a smart man, nor is he an author. He is simply ruthless.

2. If Newsweek were smart they hired him as an "If and when"
As in, if and when we want your crap we will publish it and pay you for it.

3. I asked the same question when George Will
became a columnist for Newsweek. In those days, reactionary RWers didn't last too long. what was that...1972?

What the Hell do I know?

4. They might just move him to the masthead, give him some money
and keep him away from the written word... If they're smart. It can't be fun being saddled with this self 'impordant' twit.

6. Wonder if the contract has a clause
whereby a "Warning Label" can be printed with it? Some sort of Bullshit Alert I would think?

Maybe even an asterisk, like Bary Bond's ball in the Hall of Fame.
