The Irony of the Republican Presidential Primary.....
Edited on Sat Feb-17-07 08:56 PM by louis c
First off, let me say for the record that I don't care how many marriages someone has or who they marry. What I don't like is hypocrisy.

The Republicans present themselves as the "family values" party. Self-righteous arbiter's of morals.

That having been said, isn't it ironic that of the "top-tier" Republican presidential candidates (McCain, Giuliani, Romney and Gingrich) the only guy that has had only one wife is the Mormon?

Ha, ha, ha.

1. I agree. hypocrisy. Look at 2 of the 3 frontrunners in our party.
John Edwards has had a strong and loving marriage with Elizabeth
Barack obama and Michelle have been deeply in love and show it.
no affairs and no sneaking around. They have real values.

2. Hillary has been strong and forgiving
she held a marriage together through the white-hot spot-light of the Lewinsky affair.

she stayed strong, held that marriage together and remained independent.

rather than criticize her, I admire her for that.

3. Yes, I do too. She lived her faith and her vows. As do many spouses when
they face difficulties like she did.

Many marriages have to deal with one spouse being unfaithful and being "found out". It's not a rare thing. Not all of them survive it. I give great credit to those spouses who are able to rebuild a marriage.

4. Well, I'm getting to like Hillary more and more
I think that's who we're going to get in the final.
