| Huckabee is their best candidate and Romney is their worst. |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-28-07 09:19 PM by Bleachers7
I spotted McCain in 2000 and noticed that Bush was a bullshitter. I was correct then and I believe I'm correct now. Romney by far is the biggest bullshitter, equivocator, say anything lier running in either party. He cannot give a straight and honest answer.
Huckabee is their best candidate. He speaks smoothly and smartly. He would get the widest support in a GE of any of their candidates. He's asking for black and gay support which may cause us problems.
The final 2-3 candidates will be Huckabee, Romney, and maybe McCain.

I said that during the debate thread. And you just put it more simply and accurately.

Its good to know you can trust your intuition...But to me Guliani seems scarier than Romney. Something about the way he doesn't even have to "pretend" to care about mom and pop conservatives, but rather follows an agenda of his own, makes me nervous.

| 3. He won't get gay support |
|
But he still scares the shit out of me. He's charismatic, and has coherent (though I disagree with many of them) positions on issues. Huckabee vs. Hillary would have Huckabee winning by a landslide, and my rights go out the window. Obama and Huckabee could be a good race.

| 4. i pretty much agree with you but Huckabee's campaign problem is money |
|
and he doesn't have lots of it and that could be a real problem for him but---i will say it would be way fun to have a brand new "Arkansas project"

|
If he can parlay a clear debate win into some some big online dollars, then we have a serious problem.

Dems and independents will give up one some of those issues to vote for someone sensible.

| 6. I agree. I disagree with Huckabee profoundly... |
|
but he's a strong candidate.
Romney is awful. Rudy's sinking like a stone and McCain's got too much baggage. Thomson, Hunter and the crazy anti imigration guy are going nowhere.
Ron Paul's interesting!

| 13. Yep. Romney should go back to selling Caddys |
|
he is a flip-flopper of the worst kind. Bullshitter, dishonest, opportunist.
All 3 of us watched the debate in different rooms, but the general consensus was that Huckabee is the best in a debate setting, and the one who would appeal the most in a GE campaign.

|
He would grab the evangelical vote as well as the rest of the party. I can see many independents voting for him due to his level headed, reasoned answers (if you have republican leanings).
He will be formidible and if he wins Iowa, money won't be an issue.
I think he won the debate tonight overally. And he would crush hillary.

If the antitax Republicans don't kill him the Democratic nominee could be in trouble.

But, imho Romney couldn't tie his own shoelaces w/o a consultant. Talk about indecisive. He makes Bush look like a rocket scientist.
