Oprah and Babs are OK; Gore is the rock star

.............

I'm waiting for Al Gore.

Yes, yes, I remember that back in 2004, right after Gore threw his endorsement behind presidential hopeful Howard Dean, Dean sank like a rock in Iowa. But that was then, and this is now.

Gone is the wooden, former veep who used to be like a match to wet wood.

Today, Gore is both a statesman and a rock star. A crusader, capitalist and conservationist. There he was Monday at the White House, the real winner in 2000, standing next to the guy who got fewer votes but became president anyway.

Gore, with a Nobel Prize, stood smiling beside George Bush. Why Bush was smiling at all is a mystery, what with a war he can't win, recession worries he can't seem to restrain and global warming he can't or won't grasp.

Experience is not a dirty word. And Al Gore is proof. But because he won't run, he can endorse instead.

3. On a more personal level
there's no love lost between Al and Hillary. I doubt Gore will endorse her in any event.

"How does he feel about it all? "I feel fine," he says, "but, when I say that, I'm reminded of a story that Cousin Minnie Pearl used to tell about a farmer who was involved in an accident and sued for damages." To paraphrase, at the trial the lawyer for the driver of the other car cross-examined the farmer, saying, "Isn't it true that right after the accident, you said, 'I feel fine'?" The farmer said, "Well, it's not the simple," before going on to explain that the other car rammed into him, throwing both him and his cow from his car. When a highway patrolman came by and saw the cow struggling, he shot him between the eyes. The farmer continued, "The patrolman then came to my side and said, 'How do you feel?' so I said, 'I feel fine.'" I love this guy!!

I've never read this..it was too sad and still is ..reading about the disingenuous mediawhores who are still trying to cover their tracks.

Also..I've read over the years how there was this contention between hillary and Gore. I guess they bring it up in this article..I'm bookmarking to read it all over time..thanks again, peace froggie.

13. You can be associated w corporations and yet be a populist. It's whether you
promote their agenda over what is best for the people in the nation that counts.

I wouldn't call Gore a populist by any stretch of the imagination.

So let's just substitute that word for ethical or a good dem

I submit Hillary is a good dem, a grown-up, and will act in the people's best interest

14. Here, read this:
Al From, the DLC's founder and CEO, opened a freewheeling discussion forum by arguing that Democrat Al Gore made a huge tactical mistake by continually emphasizing that he would "fight for the people and not the powerful" as the nation's first president of the 21st Century.

THE DLC DO NOT REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE RATHER THE CORPORATIONS AND THEIR PROFITABILITY!

4. I kept thinking that Bush's silly grin
was in line with,

'Ha-ha, you won -- but I got the office'- I could be wrong.

Who really knows what is going on in that head?

Gore may be waiting to see who is chosen as our candidate.

12. He is not going to endorse anyone. The new Gore is a PR savvy Gore.
He gets nothing out of endorsing someone, given all the tensions within the Dem base. In short, he is a uniter, not a divider :-)
