| What important issues are NOT being covered in the "American Idol"esque debates? |
|
I don't even watch them anymore--they are just "gotcha" exercises where the questions seem almost crafted to make whomever is asked look bad. They certainly do nothing to inform this media-skeptical, informed, undecided voter.
The RRRepublican debates are no better, either.
What issues aren't being discussed that should be, and for bonus points*, try to frame the question so that it actually inspires an intelligent discussion!
*Your prize will be the devotion of world-weary DUers like me. What could be better?

| 2. The issue of economics seems to be taboo for both parties. |
|
The MSM can't risk exposing the fact that most of us (that aren't the wealthiest one percent, that is) are feeling it in our dayily lives.

| 3. Too many to list. You're right-- the debates are... |
|
a bore and don't do a damn thing to illuminate any of the candidates.
Much better to watch the better one-on-ones with good interviewere who give the candidates a chance to actually talk about their plans and ideas.

| 4. Let's see what questions CNN allows in tonight's YouTube debate. |
|
I asked if the candidates believed Americans have a right to privacy.

| 5. Outrageous credit card interest. Cap it. Awe, never mind - |
|
this issue will never be touched.
Although I would like to see people being more thoughtful about their economic situation before they say "charge it", and I agree that everyone must pay their debts - the card companies are making matters worse for those in credit trouble by tacking on huge interest rates. There are people that are being charged up to 30% interest every month and will never be able to pay the debt down. The severe interest punishment on vulnerable consumers is out of control and must be capped...20% will work.
