We must have another party
Edited on Fri Nov-23-07 08:49 PM by salinen
This party will be the party to end all parties. Who's invited? Everyone. What to wear? Anything or nothing. Where? Everywhere on Earth. Date? Sometime in November 2008. What are we celebrating? The end of Bush.

I'd be so ultra happy to see people worldwide in mass celebration. What a sendoff to a regime despised universally. This may be the common ground shared by 99% of earth's inhabitants. It's really a fine way to protest as well. By celebrating, we send the message that this was unacceptable and everyone knows it. Wouldn't it be great to see a float of Cheney in drag? How will Fox News respond to the joy spilling out unto every city on earth? What will HumeGibsonO'reillyHannity do? How about numbers in the billions? "3 Billion people paraded worldwide in response to American President Bush being out of power."

I might even watch television again.

1. I will reserve judgement on my RSVP until the results are in
if the machine installs another of theirs, the party should be more like the one on 14 July 1789, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storming_of_the_Bastille )

2. I'd probably have to scratch my eyeballs out if I saw a representation of Cheney in drag.
But I hear you. I think we need to have a big ol' party when that evil regime is consigned to the garbage pail of history. It will be nice to have a President who I'm not ashamed of again.

3. If It Happens, I'll Bring Wine
I just worry that it won't....

I'd hate to have to wait for his battery to run out, two ghoulish Cheneybots creaking about...it doesn't bear thinking about!

4. I am trying to get my wife to let me make reservations for Las
Vegas for 1/20/09. Could be quite a party.

5. It will be a false victory if his replacement doesn't make radical change happen.
My hope for that is about used up and I don't do faith. Any excuse for a party, though, out of spite if nothing else.

7. I'm sorry, but Bush leaving office is just not enough. He will be replaced
by someone who will be only a difference of degree, not of kind. He will go to live in luxury and continue to pollute the planet. He will be honored, paid and protected by our tax dollars from now on. Bush is not the Problem - he is just a symptom of the Problem. Sorry, I can't get excited about our country becoming a police state/empire - Bush leaving office won't change that. We do need another party - another Political Party...

11. Bush merely leaving isn't any reason for a party...
Impeach him and drag him out of the White House in handcuffs and leg irons, and I'll start dancing.
