1. There are idiots here sleeping outside the stores in record breaking cold weather
It will be 16 degrees tonight.

If I knew any of these morans had kids with them, I would report them for child abuse.

fewer idiots in the world.

11. I don't understand what stupid shoppers sleeping in the freezing cold has
to do with the minimum wage.

12. It's pretty simple.
DISCOUNTS!!

That means LESS money needed to buy something that would normally cost a whole lot more!

Middle class, poor people and minimum wage earners normally take advantage of those deals.

Haven't you ever used a coupon?

13. But what does sleeping in horrid weather have to do with shopping?
It's stupid, and the world already has enough stupid people. Can't people sleep at home and shop in the morning?

14. Not if they want that particular item.
If you don't wait in line, then they will be sold out.

Then, you lose out on the deal. To get the deal you have to play by the rules of the deal.

Some of the BF deals are available online but not all.

19. The people I saw on TV had tents and sleeping bags
and pneumonia is caused by bacteria, not by cold air.

Hey, they don't have health insurance anyway, so they may as well die happy! ;)

I mean, what does one really have to lose when they don't have much to begin with?

Might as well enjoy your life and live it with gusto!

20. WEhen you make minimum or close to it
the 200 or so dollar Toshiba at best buys may be the only way you can afford a compiuter

Some of these folks have VALID reasons to be there.

Oh and as Breeze said, penumonia is caused by bacteria... now if you already have a depresed immune system due to
bad diet and a cold the cold weather may make it worst... but the cold weather does not cause it directly

If it did, lord I shoud have gotten it so many times when I used to stand watch on the dog watch when I was much younger as a medic

Would not do it these days... but don't have a healthy body eiher

21. Those *deals* are crap
I keep an eye peeled at all times for sales. And I *beat* the best *doorbuster* being offered tomorrow at 5 am -- a MONTH ago.

Black Friday is bullshit. People have been brainwashed into thinking they are only going to find *deals* tomorrow, and only after they jump through the various hoops the stores have set out.

Last year many of the stores had plenty of supplies of the 5 am doorbusters at 3 in the afternoon. And even if you don't get exactly what you want - the stores will still be discounting before Christmas.

People need to shake off the consumer-conditioning and stop acting like sheep. Do the math - the *savings* are NOT that much difference. It's just the clarion call of the hype that makes it seem special.

22. Some may not agree with you and that's their prerogative.
A discount of over $600.00 on a computer bundle is a great deal in any book.

The early bird discounts are deep, indeed. ;)

23. They are free to make that choice
but if they take their kids with them and make them sleep outside, that's child abuse.

15. my feathered child will be out playing in the yard
her idea of shopping is looking around for bugs and worms. Or mooching something from one of us.

Henrietta the Pet Chicken is a great friend- low maintenance, easy to feed, and is an affection junkie...yes, she sits in my lap.

Bird joke
Q: What is the difference between a pet chicken and a parrot?
A: About $3000.

Not much shopping frenzy here, the local choices being MallWart or Kfart. The rest of the stores are locals, and will be opening at the normal time.

10. Steely Dan knows what to do
When Black Friday comes
I'll stand down by the door
And catch the grey men when they
Dive from the fourteenth floor
When Black Friday comes
I'll collect everything I'm owed
And before my friends find out
I'll be on the road
