A Christian nation?
We've all heard born-again types claim that the United States is a "Christian" nation, guided by God. Even though the founders took great pains to separate church & state in the Constitution, they continue to make these claims.

Maybe they're using the Old Testament as a basis for their comparisons. In the OT, God not only condoned the slaughter of innocent men, women, and children, he commanded it. Their crime? Occupying land that was "divinely" set aside for the ancient Israelis. Flash forward several thousand years, and you find "godly" men slaughtering innocent men, women, and children. Their only crime was occupying land that they desired.

Same formula, same blueprint, same results. The inhabitants who weren't slaughtered were rounded up and placed in undesirable areas, and treated as second-class humans.

Is this what they really mean when they refer to the US as a "godly" nation?

1. Yeah, we can tell it's a Christian nation by how well
the sick and the poor are treated.

That's the only response those loons deserve.

3. They are refering to John Winthrop and Puritan theorcratic belief...
The whole "godly nation" crowd take their belief right out of John Winthrops sermon about the city on the hill. They neglect ro remember that,at the time, the Puritan's were citizens of the British Empire who wanted a government that subjected everyone to the will of God as defined by the elect.

Most megachurches I am familiar with are not about feeding the poor and healing the sick. They are about converting everyone who doesn't agree with them.

9. Converting them and collecting 10% of their gross wages!
The whole scam is about providing amateur theatricals, a sense that one is vastly superior to one's neighbors, and a way to bribe oneself out of hell.

It's a great scam.

look at this if this does not look revolting to you...

http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/rel-chr.html#chris
I have seen churches flying this "christian flag" even with or higher than the American flag.In flag protocol this is well,a HUGE faux paus.Like this...

The U.S. flag should occupy a place of prominence when being displayed. No other flags displayed with it should be larger or hung higher than the U.S. flag. In addition, the U.S. flag should not be allowed to touch the ground, nor should it be dipped to any other flag, person or object.

Yeah these christian domininist fascist swine are as far as I am concerned American terrorists. Sanctioned by the government armed to the teeth able to dodge human rights laws, with idiot attorney generals that think torture is not torture, and of course they got a the fanatic army ,black water .Built with lots of money from the millions of dupes(tithing is not biblical or required of christians)
http://www.bibleinsight.com/tithing.html
That tithing in the pews of mega-churches the church goers are told to pay ten percent of their gross income,it funds these dangerous churches. These funds are taken totally tax free...and therefore unaccounted for. Now you know why tithing to a fundamentalist mega-church is bad.And why we may have to Tax the churches someday.
We cannot let them grow too rich especially if they believe they have to take control of the country for their god.

8. here

Might I suggest a burning of La Hayes books and other bigoted xtian hate literature? I know some will see this as horrid but be aware these asshole churches burn books CD's and all that isn't jesus centered with glee.,Burn them back by seeking out shit like chick comics(hilarious as they are sickening)And other dominionist books of shit like the scofield bible,Those fundie tracts & hand outs, burn the watchtowers you find stacked in various places, the literature left on benches, burn jesus fish, you can find all that crap at used bookstores or christian bookstores, and the street.

I wouldn't waste my money on buying that shit myself,I'd get it direct from the sources giving it away.Go to the mega-churches,see the information table being run by a smiling stepford wife take take some of her flyers and say you want some extra for your friends, she won't be stingy. Because they hand this shit out to convert. If you see fundies preaching take their flyers and extras the same way.Go to rest stops and you will find tons of tracts take them, after awhile you will have enough of this crap to fill a truck.. so let them pay for the bonfire.

Don't burn the xtian flag blaspheme it .Put a big black circle with a slash through it on the flag,That says it pretty clear NO christian nation.Take the NO xtian nation flag with you to a protest, fly a gay flag,a black flag or an upside down American flag in one hand and keep the respectable flag in the respected position, as you drag the christian flag on the street behind you by the pole,a cheap shower curtain rod, in your other hand, encourage others to stomp it with muddy boots,or whatever they want to do,hell, take a piss on it.Until you arrive at the bonfire. Singe the flag..and let the participants rip it to shreds and spit kick and destroy it together.
That would send the message to these fascists culties very clear methinks.
