It's about the Class War, Stupid.

THAT is the underlying message of our times. Everything else we face is a symptom of that. The rich are getting richer faster than ever, and the middle class is vanishing like an icecube in the sun. The war is profiting the ultra-rich "conservative" class and killing or physically or emotionally maiming the children of the lower classes. Credit card companies, advertisers, and banks are preying on the less fortunate and leading them into debt so they can buy more Chinese crap foisted upon them by multi-nationals who play the political game to avoid paying their fair share and take far more from the system then they'll ever put into it.

Everything else. EVERYTHING else is just a symptom of the underlying problem--America no longer belongs to Americans. It belongs to the monied interests, who are manipulating everything down to foreign and domestic policy decisions at the expense of everyone else who doesn't have the funds to compete on K Street.

THIS is the true battle of our time. Anyone who doesn't realize its import isn't paying attention.

3. Its hard to pay cash for a first house

Even with the housing bubble burst, houses more of a workers salery than they used to.
20 years ago, I bought a house on 0.5 acres for 25K. I made ~12 K / year.
That same house costs 100K now. I still make ~12K/year.

A a low to mid wage-earner "homeowner" , now is owned for life.

Then we must get our politicians to curb the eternal life of the Corporate entities. The Courts say a Corporation is a citizen. Why then doesn't it die like all other citizens ? If they did occasionally die, they would be unable to accumulate the wealth to buy politicians like they now do.

Follow the money and it leads to the crap we continue to endure. There is only 1 candidate I trust that is running for President... except he is belittled and called an elf. I'm half way in and out the door on Edwards. He seems to have shed the DLC coat and embarked on a campaign with the truth. I personally wouldn't mind if the two of them teamed up. Together, they would really heal the nation and bring the wrongs into rights. I don't care which way you pair them, they would have to work as co-pres. to undo the soooo many wrongs. It would be an amazing thing for someone to finally open the doors to the tombs that encase the many atrocities that have been committed by our secreted policing agencies like the CIA and NSA. With real information, there would be a lot of elite in jail.
