Give Credit to Bush...He presided over a crashing dollar & total economic meltdown
If a Democrat had been in the Oval Office for the last 6 years, and the economy had literally 'bled out' with a tanking dollar and a crashing housing market like this one has, the Republicans would be screaming around the clock about the total financial disaster that the Democrats had visited on the nation.

Bush put the Iraq War on credit, financed it with supplemental appropriations to keep it out of the budget, and instituted tax cuts for all his corp friends and the super rich. His Administration spent more money than any Democratic Administration in history, and they hid the numerous no-bid deals with Halliburton and the like. And for good measure they cut back on programs to give healthcare to children, allowed 45 million to have no healthcare insurance, and made sure millions will go without heat this winter.

The bill has now come due and Bush is trotting out financial experts to assert that the economy is fine, the tax cuts need to remain in place for the super rich corporates, and that military conflict with Iran is on the horizon.

Democrats need to begin making the clear case of total disaster by the Bush Administration NOW --TODAY -- AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY, and not wait until after the Party Nominees are selected.

People need to understand how bad things are in order for the people to put pressure on Congress to ACT NOW before things get even worse. NO MORE LIES, no more unsupported optimism that the system will fix itself.

The TIME TO ACT IS NOW, and the TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION AND INCOMPETENCE IS NOW.

IT'S TIME!!

Bush is a psychopath, among psychopaths. They want what they want, they'll take it and don't care who gets hurt. They will not stop until something from outside themselves makes them stop.
All narcissists, authoritarian and psychopath personalities are like this. They are all unwilling to be fair ethical just or decent.
They will take what they want and try to get away with it up the ante until an outside force, forces them to stop it.They can never have enough. And they will take and steal, kill and destroy until there is no more left. They are predatory parasites the most wealthy ones most certainly are and their paper corporations that excuse their theft of the fruits of our civilization are their tools of mass exploitation and since they know no boundaries or limits they think themselves superior and that the law does not apply to them and even believe themselves exempt from reality itself. This makes it necessary for others PUT limits on them. The force that stops this maladministration must come from outside themselves or more specifically from their kind of personality type..In tribal days people like the ones ruining this country, the ones with narcissism, psychopathy and authoritarian personalities were observed then when their 'nature' was revealed they were killed by the tribe, because they pushed the limits of what is tolerable until the tribe for the sake of the tribe's survival had to kill them off..

They may have pious faces, but they do the devil's work. (Assuming there is a devil.)

Psychopaths have no boundaries internally. So if they are not forced to behave by others they won't curb their abuses for they will not put limits on themselves.

Imagine - if you can - not having a conscience, none at all, no feelings of guilt or remorse no matter what you do, no limiting sense of concern of the well-being of strangers, friends, or even family members. Imagine no struggles with shame, not a single one in your whole life, no matter what kind of selfish, lazy, harmful, or immoral action you had taken. And pretend that the concept of responsibility is unknown to you, except as a burden others seem to accept without question, like gullible fools. Now add to this strange fantasy the ability to conceal from other people that your psychological makeup is radically different from theirs. Since everyone simply assumes that conscience is universal among human beings, hiding the fact that you are conscience-free is nearly effortless. You are not held back from any of your desires by guilt or shame, and you are never confronted by others for your cold-bloodedness. The ice water in your veins is so bizarre, so completely outside of their personal experience that they seldom even guess at your condition.

http://www.cix.co.uk/~klockstone/spath.htm

Having the kind of society we need to thrive in requires each one of us who can feel empathy has to reinforce pro-social behaviors, and basically enforce it too for our own sake and for the sake of others too. But psychopaths, narcissists and authoritarian personalities they do not feel they should have to play by our pro social rules,so feeling themselves superior to us they actively seek to undermine pro social societies and dominate and abuse people and power to create isolated fear ridden individuals . This is because bullies know people who are alone feel less empowered so they are easy to exploit, and easy to use as posse.Just look to the dysfunctional relationships and dysfunctional family dynamics of abuse.Look to the cycle of abuse and there you will see a pretty clear reflection of our civilizations problems. Bad personalities,it's who these people are who seek to abuse us,dupe us and exploit us as much as they can get away with..who are the first problem.. But there is another side to this problem . It is from we as a culture. A lot of people who could have spoken up,fought back, or left these scumbags or exposed them don't rock the boat, they have failed to force the bad personalities who refuse to care to curb their anti social traits and abusive behaviors. We don't make these personalities actually be accountable for what they do or don't do,and we don't force them to keep their abusive behaviors within the limits of our more pro social boundaries that help US to thrive..Our social atomization and lack of community cohesiveness and the corporate game has let the bullies take over this culture and we live under an unspoken abuse or be abused, master and servant mentality, might makes right sorts of crazy making values now..And it is killing us from the inside out..

7. You're Correct. The War and The Economy ARE INEXTRICABLY CONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER...
The War in Iraq has ruined our country in so many ways, not the least of which is it has bankrupted our economy.

Democrats need to make the connection and drive the point home.

When we have less money to spend, the poor and middle class always take the worst of it. More homeless, more hungry, more sick without medical insurance, etc.

WAKE UP DEMS!!

26. Dems should be pressuring the MEDIA to get Spokespeople who will make
the connections. Donna Brazille and JC Watts and James Carville and the weak Dem "consultants" on Tweety's show just don't do the job for Dems. They are paid consultants who have loyalties to the Media who writes their checks or the candidate who is paying them.

The question is: Why aren't the Corporate Whore Media afraid enough of Dems coming into power that they wouldn't want to get on their good side? That's what's disturbing. For seven years we've had no true Democratic spokesperson framing issues about what the Bushies have been doing for the viewers. Dems claimed it was because they were in the Minority. Now they are the majority and the coverage is even worse as the Cables cut back the "Real News" and focus on Crime and Fluff while pushing every Repug or DINO Dem they have in their stable to push back on Dems.

Why is the M$M not cozying up to the DEMS if they think they will take back the WH and increase numbers in Congress? Defies logic and politics.

15. Every reference to Repubs should be "Bush Republicans"...and never let them forget it.
It should be consistent and pervasive, and make them dissassociate themselves from Bush at every turn.

They know how vile and poisionous Bush is and won't even mention his name. Hang it around their neck and make them wear it until the next election is over!

22. But they didn't grovel. The Democrats showed the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years.
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

Edited on Sat Nov-17-07 06:50 AM by tom_paine
Listen guy, I know you are all about repeating the same thing over and over again. Gestalt-based propaganda seems to be the one thing the Democrats have learned (only use against our own, never against Bushies, though...that would be too scary, going up against the Mighty Wurlitzer), so I am going to say this once.

It matters NOTHING is the Democrats hang together on their votes. Especially because the remaining 91 percent of issues we maintained unity on simply have nothing to do with containing the a-Constitutional Bushie brushfire that is consuming our nation's economy, young people, and our very soul, what we stand for. Plus, I strongly suspect that, like most Gestalt-based propaganda that the Bushies and now the Clintonistas seem to be using to such good effect, you are omitting one or more key facts in order to advance a story which will lead to a pre-conceived conclusion.

Well, I ain't buying. But not to worry, Perry, one thing I have learned these past 15 years or so is that people are no different that we ever were. Therefore, Hillary's (and your) Gestalt-based Propaganda is going to work as it always does, and you will get everything you want.

Except perhaps Hillary as Empress, because your unwillingness to challenge the Mighty Wurlitzer on any meaningful level means that while you can beat the shit, roll over, and grease the rhetorical treads of your tank with the rhetorical blood of hapless progressives clinging to the old ways of the Enlightenment (this must be the rush of excitement I read in DLC articles that use virtually the same terms the Bushies do, to condemn progressives), you cannot beat the Masters, for they own the template you are following, and their Might Wurlitzer, Perry, is mighty bigger than anything you could hope to construct. Your easy beat-down of progressives through repetition and sophistry is going to hit a fucking brick wall once the Bushies decide to hijack the National Dialogue for eight months now, instead of six (thanks early, wintertime, vote-suppressing primaries).

But enjoy for now the same joy the Bushies get when they just stand and repeat, and progressives can do nothing. It must be a big rush.

In any case, you are perilously close to being put on ignore.

Bring something NEW to the conversation or STFU. I have read that SAME post of yours, literally, one hundred times now.

Are you paid by the post, Perry? I have to ask (not that I expect an honest answer) because pay-by-post is one brick in the wall of Gestalt-based Propaganda the Bushies built and Hillary now used to good effect(but only on progressives, NEVER on Bushies) because these organizations are becoming ubiquitous these days and what you post matches exactly what I would expect for someone being paid by the post (the same cut-and-paste over and over and OVER).

Enough. Soon, you will be on ignore and you will have to earn your keep (I speculate) spamming other people's posts.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I will vote for the Democratic Nominee for Emperor in 2008, even if it is Hillary.
