Do You Think Gore Intended To Give His Sherman Statement On Leno?

He was scheduled to be on last Thursday. A few days before his people warned off the Draft Gore groups attempting to get his name on the ballot.

Was he going to do what he did on Leno in 2002, and make his "I'M NOT RUNNING IN '08, PERIOD." statement?

1. No.

First, I think his sherman statement in 2002 was in a 60 minutes interview.

Second, once it became clear it wasn't going to happen, if he wanted to issue a sherman statement, he could have called a press conference.


For some reason he doesn't want to issue a sherman statement, but he also doesn't want his name on the ballots.

I read somewhere that he would only be interested in the nomination IF it was a broken convention AND he was asked by party leaders to help unite the party. I don't remember where i read it, but it would explain his reasons for not wanting to completely take his name out, but also not wanting people to put him on the ballot.

Who knows at this point.
