The Finest of Men
This is how David Brooks, Professional Right Wing nerd, described John McCain
in a column in today's American paper here.

McCain enthusiastically spoke at Jerry Falwell's "Liberty" University,
and gave * a great big hug during the last presidential campaign.

The column was entitled "The Character Factor," something Brooks was desperately
trying to convince us that McCain possessed.

The man embraced both Falwell (figuratively) and Bush Lite (literally). That
is not an indication of character. That is an indication of a LACK of character.

2. McCain lost any sense of himself and his character in recent years.....
Edited on Wed Nov-14-07 06:52 PM by blm
he would turn on a others who helped him time and time again over the years through his own personal ordeals and some political battles just to help his presidential ambitions.....this short clip is a perfect example of the backstabbing he is capable of:

4. I'd only agree that McCain IS a character
Any character he had left after cuddling up to the far right he lost when he took that completely impromptu (except for the heavy US military presence :eyes:) walk through a Baghdad market to prove how safe it was, directly resulting in the deaths of Iraqis in that market the next day.

5. McCain has sold what soul he had
He got recognition for being willing to stand up and take shit from
no one. He forgot completely that his political capital came from
his lack of it. When he abandoned that mode, he abandoned that which
made him stand out from the rest of his lying colleagues. That has
destroyed the political ambitions of greater candidates than he. It
will be (or already has been) his downfall as well.

To beat 'em, you don't have to join 'em, John. You used to act like you
had learned that in 'Nam. Is Alzheimer's setting in, or what?
