1. The 92,000 wasn't to Iraq -- it was to future "enlargement" of our
military overall, in the next -- decade? -- I think he was saying.

At least that's what I understood it.

Of course, he didn't mention that any beefing up of our military is only needed, if at all, due to his reckless depletion and exhaustion of our troops in his private corporate wars....

6. Logical assumptions, for sure.
But there is no way our present military could provide 92,000 more troops for Iraq or ANYWHERE right now after Chimpy has depleted our military so much for so long.

That's one of the many things about what he's done to our military that absolutely enrages me. Consider what would happen if something unexpected occurred (I don't want to give an example that might be inflamatory if I named nations) which would mean America badly needed to send a large contingent of troops to somewhere entirely apart from Iraq or even the Middle East? To protect us, to fight back if we were attacked, I mean. Where would those troops come from?

The point is, we simply DO NOT HAVE any troop strength in reserve anymore. All our soldiers available have been used wrongly by this Coward-In-Chief and worn out, killed, maimed, and made ill in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Our National Guard has been used like regular army troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and many citizens in the Reserves and/or "Ready Reserve" have served similarly. These are NOT the capacities these citizen-soldiers are intended for at all!

Yet Bu$h has used them that way because our regular volunteer military did not have enough bodies to keep deployed in the two ME wars of Bu$h for so damn many years.

(I figure) that is why he was talking about boosting the overall numbers strength of our military over the next 10 years, because he's aware of how totally depleted he'll be leaving our military when he finally does leave office....

4. 8500 are going to Iraq and Afghanistan
from Europe and are not part of the 21,500. I found that last nite and posted it from Stars and Stripes. They are going this summer--date unknown, but one battalion is scheduled for a good-bye party in May.
