C-SPAN Quote From CONYERS-Forgetaboutit
C-SPAN with a quote from Conyers - Conyers saying it would be bad for Pelosi to move on impeachment because it would split the party.

Well, now we know what will happen if the bill goes into the HJC - it will be killed.

2. But that's an "old" quote. Who knows where he stands right now.
I think Conyers knows what he's doing.

6. the quote here:
House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, whose panel has jurisdiction over impeachment proceedings, has described the impeachment effort as a potential disruption.

"If the speaker were to let this thing out of the box, considering the number of legislative issues we have pending," the Michigan Democrat told Fox News, "it could create a split that could affect our productivity for the rest of the Congress."

8. That's wrong. They'll split the party if they DON'T move on it.
They have to give a good impression of responding to their constituency.

9. The party is already split
Democrats vs DLCers. Impeachment will only make that split more obvious to the casual observer.

10. There's been an earthquake in the party, already, and we're staring into a chasm.
I can think of no better way to really shatter any party unity that might remain than to kill this impeachment movement.

If they kill this, it's because Bush/Cheney are not the only ones with dirty laundry!
