"If there is hope . . . it lies in the proles"
George Orwell said this through Winston Smith in his dystopian view of the future.

The Party, or parties in our case, will never change the game in which they play and the means by which they rule us. I am not advocating a revolution, but I am continually banging my head against the wall as I am let down by the Democratic representatives on a near daily basis. If the party leaves the party's long formed ideals what are we, the people, going to do with OUR PARTY?

"Until the become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they they have rebelled they cannot become conscious." —pg 61, referring the proles

How long before we become conscious? How long before we wake up?

1. this really relates to Buddhism... Samsara, world of suffering, never really changes, what we have
to do is while avoiding more bad karma, is train the mind in meditation to become 'AWAKE'.. Buddha means one who is awake.

consciousness is something we learn verbally from others.. from other people who are conscious. which is why we have to help even the worst freeper understand in a positive manner.

once conscious one can understand the importance of the 4 Noble Truths, which is a simple logical posit, the first teaching of the Buddha, everything else he taught was to Understand that.

the goal is to Transcend samsara into a oneness called Nirvana, in the mahayana school we vow to not enter Nirvana till all sentient beings are enlightened and have entered nirvana...then we can follow

2. What Gore says
Al Gore says in the latest Rolling Stone article that the world needs a change in consciousness and that he believes we are on the cusp. I believe what he says, but I think that we are teetering on the edge and we could certainly fall back into despotism, a new, modern, Dark Ages, if you will.
