Avatar etiquette - keeping it Kucinich and working for Edwards
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 04:27 PM by RiverStone
My heart is with Dennis...on impeachment, on ending funding for the Iraq war, on many things. He unequivocally represents my views better than any declared candidate.

My head tells me he has not the name recognition, M$M attention (in a good way), and money to be competitive nationally. Dennis or Al will not be president in 2008; as much as I wish it to be true, it is not.

Some have suggested that by working for John, I'm compromising my vote and values. I say that more than anything, I want a Democrat to win the General; second to that, I want a Democrat who is NOT DLC and Hillary Clinton.

John Edwards is my next best "realistic" option and I see him as our only chance to beat Hillary in every region of the country. I also see John as best equipped to beat the rethug nominee in every region as well.

If Al Gore endorses anyone before the primaries, my guess is it would be John. John most closely parallels Al's position on Global Warming.

So though my heart is with Dennis, I'm shifting my energy to advocate for John Edwards for President in 2008. And will keep plenty of enthusiasm in reserve for Dennis!

Oh, on the avatar thing...?

2. This is pretty much how I'm thinking
It's not a matter of "I don't think Kucinich can win the General, so I'm voting for someone who can." I believe that anyone who can win the primary can win the general. I just don't think Kucinich can win the primary, and I'd rather have Edwards than HRC or Obama. If the more liberal vote is split between five or six options, then one of the more moderate/conservative Dems is going to take the primary. That's all there is to it.
