Democrats in Judiciary Committee have enough votes to stop Mukasey
they have 10 votes to republican 9

if we had ANY democratic leadership in Congress they would reject Mulkasey

So when the democrats say they don't have enough votes, it's bullshit

2. whatever you want to believe.
I don't see how they can force Schumer and Feinstein to vote with the majority. I suppose, theoretically, Leahy could simply table the vote.

4. Perhaps the Democratic leadership should call a torture supporter
a torture supporter instead of a colleague they just don't agree with

but they can't force DiFi and UpChuck to vote against Mukasey....but they can call them out on it.

I'm not inclined to agree with the idea that one has to be polite to war criminals or war crime enablers. So the leadership can - and should - and in no uncertain terms - spell out exactly what those who vote in favor of confirming Mukasey are voting for...now is not the time to sugarcoat anything...but they still can't force them to vote against Mukasey.

So, no, while Democrats hold a majority of 10, they still don't have the votes.

And I am not one to make excuses for any vote made...

6. Evewryone who opposes the party line must be tortured and sent to a gulag.
Yeah, let's be just like the people we oppose the most, the totalitarians and royalists. In fact, we should just elect a dictator for the party who decides how every "representative" must represent. Then, the dictator could also decide who gets to run for the office.

HELLO!!!!!
