ABC "This Week" -- interview with Edwards
John Edwards advocating for rule by the people and reducing the level of power concentrated in a few people's hands, admitting to the many levels of corruption in government, speaking clearly and with conviction on changing America's direction. This is a good man. If not DK -- then JE. I could really get behind his run for President.

1. Edwards acted like a jerk on This Week
Lots of slogans like "end corruption" and "rule by the people" with no substance at all.

3. He was given little room to maneuver with the line of questioning
As far as acting like a jerk, please tell me the substantive points you felt he missed.

5. From my OP on other thread:
Stephanopoulos asked Edwards about driver's licenses for illegal aliens and Edwards tried to duck out by saying he'd let the states decide. Stephanopoulos didn't look satisfied with Edwards' answer and pressed for more. Edwards went on to say that he sees the driver's license issue as part of a larger national problem with immigration and the answer is comprehensive immigration reform. Stephanopoulos pointed out that's exactly what Hillary said, and Edwards tried to worm some more. Then Stephanopoulos asked Edwards point blank if he supports Governor Spitzer's program to give licenses to illegal aliens and Edwards gave a flat out one word no. That's exactly the opposite of what Edwards said a minute before about letting the states decide.

8. You are flat out wrong.
His position is that the states should decide.

His personal position is that he doesn't support Spitzer's program.

Those two positions don't contradict each other. It sounds like you are blinded by hatred for Edwards.

12. He is right that we should be talking about an overall comprehensive immigration reform plan,
NOT just one piece of it,unrelated to the whole. It is political suicide for Dems to debate that one issue alone. I think he was wrong basically to say the states should decide. Immigration law should not be, IMHO, a state by state deal. It is a federal issue. Gov. Spitzer has been forced to deal with his own state separately, due to lack of action on the federal level both by Congress and you know who.

Dems should say we MUST deal with this on a comprehensive, not piecemeal, basis. Getting all tangled up on the drivers license issue is deadly for us...

9. Your idea of "jerk" and mine
are two different species.

But, if it's not hillary then anyone is a "jerk"? Whereas I think hillary has been very Jerky over the years.
