Dan Abrams trying to cover Timmy's f***ed up debate.
I usually try to listen to his show, but tonight he has been obviously ordered to cover up Timmy's "debate". He has three against one lady who is talking about how unfair his questions of Hillary were. Abrams is saying she is just monday morning quarterbacking cause poor Timmy didn't ask questions that only she thinks he should have asked. She tried to point out that the questions were personal, not of any substance. He asked Hillary about immigration for example while Obama got a question about what Halloween mask he was wearing. It's so obvious what Abrams has to do. He cuts everyone off - poor Timmy poor Timmy. It makes me chuckle a little.

1. Only on DU! And FTR, I agree with Abrams, she wasn't cutting
Clinton any slack, though I really didn't 'get' that he was protecting pumpkinhead.

4. I agree with Abrams, too. The panelist wanted to veer
off into a discussion of her beefs with Russert. It would have been interesting, I'm sure, but it wasn't the topic at hand.

Hillary Clinton is the front-runner. She's going to get the tough questions -- she SHOULD get the tough questions. It makes me less less of her to have her or her representatives claim those tough questions are somehow the result of sexism.

She also might try occasionally actually answering some of those questions. Just a thought.

6. Timmeth was playing bully
Brought up stuff from 1992-2000 for christ sake. He tries to beat people down. The plan was to have Obama pick on her. Chris mathews mapped the plan out for him but Obama didn't slime her. Edwards did. It was a gang bang and the moderators went right along with it. They started the sliming right at the beginning. They never asked a question that had any substance. They didn't include DK nor Dodd or even Briden. The kicked Gravel off the stage. No this was a set up I hate Timmeth and think Brian Williams is too stupid. His news cast is awful too.

5. I think that thread refers to the earlier segment,
the one where he had to shout down Pat Buchanan on waterboarding.

2. No doubt. Abrams was in full-scale interrupt mode.

That being said, Abrams is right. Front-runner status means that Hillary was bound to be fielding more questions and be subjected to more slings and arrows from the other candidates. That's called...politics American-style.

By the way, the resident Hillary apologist on the show was Taylor Marsh.

12. Not surprising.
She actually tries to portray herself as non-affiliated, even marched out "I don't have a dog in this fight" BS line.

3. He may very well be defending Mr. Potato Head,
but the woman from Huff Po did not come across well. I don't think that the questions were out of line last night, and hell, even if they were, you should be able to answer tough questions without three weeks of conferencing.

But, I didn't see anything where Hillary blamed it on her being a woman. They just showed her at Wellesly saying she was prepared for the boys club by going there. That could just mean in general, not last night. Maybe she did say that somewhere, I don't know, but they didn't present anything on the show.

8. Mediawhores are so
not funny.. Why can't the Dems get someone of substance for their DEBATE moderator? Is that too much to ask in the 21st Century..year, 2007?

9. I would like to see Al Gore monitor a debate. A repuke debate would be even better.

13. Head of the News Department is Timmeh, that's why Matthews is
moderator also. They need to go to another network.
