that one of my friends from high school was killed in Iraq yesterday. :cry: We weren't super close and we hadn't really talked in a year or so, but he was a really great guy and I'm so lucky to have known him. I can't believe he's dead - he can't have been more than nineteen, and although I know thousands of other young men and women have died, this wounds my very soul. :cry: Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers...thanks.

I really appreciate it, and I'm sure his family will need all that they can get - I can't even imagine what this must be like for them. :cry: I have been against this stupid war from the beginning, but for such a friendly, funny, wonderful young man like my friend to be killed because of GWB and his stupid arrogance really brings it home for me. :cry:

You are lucky to have known him. It is the misfortune of the rest of us that we will never get the chance.

Any soldier who returns from war is on borrowed time. My family was lucky that ours returned to us from World War II. But I just got the phone call telling me he's dying today. He's 88. We had him for 69 more years than your friend will ever have. And I still can't believe I'm about to live in a world without him.
