Are his ratings as high as they were in the mid- and late- '90s?

I wonder if his drug use caused his listeners to defect?

The sad truth is...even though what he spews is total bullshit. It's effective
bullshit. He helped usher in the Gingrich revolution. He was instrumental
in fueling the Clinton impeachment.

I told people not to underestimate Rush. People mocked me and said he
was a buffoon and an entertainer. Although Rush packages politics in
an entertaining format--he is anything but a novelty entertainer. He
is an arm of the Bush administration and he delivers politics within an
incendiary, inflammatory, humorous and cogent framework.

People who would not ordinarily care about or listen to politics--listen to
Rush. He affects change. I find it incredibly dangerous and scary--because
most of what Rush says is untrue or grossly distorted. He's so entrenched
in dividing this nation and cultivating hate between conservatives and liberals.

Rush definitely has a gift. It's too bad that he uses those gifts in such
perverse and sinister ways.
