Hey Obama supporters...
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 04:52 PM by Lirwin2
Obama wants you to call the Human Rights Campaign and pressure them not to criticise him (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3642235). Please go and do your duty right now. Thanks.

2. Apparently Obama thinks so.
It's not ok to criticize him in public. Is it just me, or does Bush have a REALLY GOOD disguise?

5. Exactly what I thought
Obama is appearing to be like W, we know that W can't handle criticism and throws a hissy fit if someone DARES to criticise him.

Jaysus I think people have had enough of this "I demand praise and I need babying ALL the time" crap from W for seven years, without Obama starting down that road as well.

4. Gosh, is THIS how sensitive Obama IS? He can't HANDLE criticism now?
Edited on Wed Oct-24-07 04:54 PM by ...of J.Temperance
Hmmmm, very telling indeed.

He's a public official, he's running for President (not that he's got a snowball's chance of EVEN getting the nomination), he's supposed to be a mature adult man....so he needs to learn that he's going to get criticised when he FU....and allowing an ACKNOWLEDGED Homophobe to take the stage with him, is a monumental FU.

So no, the Human Rights Campaign have a RIGHT to criticise him, he NEEDS this criticism.

8. Yeah I know, thankfully I'm NOT one of them
Senator Obama won't even win the nomination, he'll drop out of the campaign by late February-early March, you wait and see if he doesn't.

I also don't like the way Obama supporters are almost like a Cult, it's approaching some Cult of Personality thing....and I don't like how a lot of Obama supporters are really nasty, in particular toward Senator Clinton's supporters....it's not cool and it's pretty crass.

12. Yup, "cult" is the perfect word for it
Supporters of ALL OTHER candidates admit mistakes. You won't find a HRC supporter, for instance, who believes that Hillary's IWR vote was the right thing, just as you won't find a Kucinich supporter who thinks his record on abortion has been a good thing. The ONLY supporters who actually believe that their candidate is right 100% of the time, are Obama supporters. I've seen this for a while, but only after the latest controversy (in which some Obama supporters blamed "gays" for causing the controversy) have the majority of DUers become aware of this.

As you can see, I'm a Hillary supporter as well, but I'll admit that her IWR vote wasn't the right thing for her to do.

I don't think agreeing with a candidate on 100% of the issues is correct, I also don't think it's a good idea to elevate a candidate to Perfect Being status, whereby you can't admit they make mistakes and FU some times.

And yeah, it's pretty disturbing that the Obama Cult have blamed gays for Obama taking an acknowledged Homophobe on the road with him....yeah instead of criticising Obama and slapping him upside the head, they demonize gays instead....amazing and nauseating.

18. I'm actually quite satisfied with his stance on gay issues to this point.
But I'll be damned if I'm going to pester the Human Rights Campaign for him.

Your, um, source, and I do use that term loosely, is from a blog alleging Obama campaign told supporters to call the HRC, with no sourcing whatsoever, no direct quote, zip, nada.

With zero substantiation of that, you are just passing on gossip to denigrate Obama and especially his supporters who are already struggling to make this right.

How brave of you to complicate this further by inserting this provocative unsubstantiated cheese. Brava! A genuine reflection of your candidate.
