Stark should have given a John Sheridan apology.
When Sheridan from Babylon 5 was ordered to make an apology for firing on a Centauri vessel that was attacking the station (but was given the dignity of being allowed to write the apology himself, told "It's the thought that counts,") his apology was this:

Capt. John Sheridan: I apologize... I'm sorry.

Capt. John Sheridan: I'm sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I'm sorry that your crew was stupid enough to fire on a station filled with a quarter million civilians, including your own people. And I'm sorry I waited as long as I did before I blew them all straight to Hell!... As with everything else, it's the thought that counts.

3. Madam Speaker....
I'm sorry for the remarks I made. And to think that I almost called the President a piece of dog shit, and a lying, heartless motherfucker, right here on the house floor. Luckily, I restrained my irrelevant ass.

I also thought of calling him a murderous dictator, who is destroying our country. I'm so relieved that I chose to bite my tongue.

Unfortunately, Bruce Boxleitner and his skanky wife are Republickers along with that crazy far-right asshole Jerry Doyle.

Oh, and apparently Karl Rove is a big fan of the series. That fact kept series creator J. Michael Straczynski from sleeping for three days.

6. 8. Bush has been using "1984" and "Babylon 5" as blueprints

Reason #4312 why George W. Bush is a complete moron

J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5, tells of a visit to the White House {and this is relevant, trust me}, where he was informed by a White House employee whose name escapes me {JMS posted this, it shouldn't be too hard to track it down}, that President Bush wanted him to know that he watched and enjoyed Babylon 5.

On hearing of the creation of Homeland Security, my first thought was to wonder if Mr. Bush realized that the Home Guard {with whom Homeland Security shares some scary characteristics} were the bad guys! Then, when ABC announced the creation of "Threat Matrix", I flashed on Babylon 5's propaganda ads for the Psi Corps, and the use of the Interstellar News Service to proclaim government sanctioned news and events {and promote organizations like the Ministry of Peace, and the Home Guard}.

8. Another favorite quote:
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 04:03 PM by backscatter712
This one's from Vir, answering Morden's question "What do you want?"

I want to live just long enough to be there when they cut your head off and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next 10 generations that some favours come at too high a price. I want to look up into your lifeless eyes and wave, like this. Can you and your associates arrange that for me, Mr. Morden?

Hi, Agent Mike! :hi:
