Israeli mole took pictures of Syrian nuclear facility
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/914887.html

srael had obtained detailed pictures of a Syrian complex from an apparent mole, which supported an Israeli belief the facility was nuclear and led to an air strike on it last month, ABC News reported on Friday.

Media reports have speculated that the IAF targeted a North Korean nuclear facility in its air strike on Syria last month. Neither Israel nor Syria has confirmed these speculations.

ABC, citing a senior U.S. official, said the person had provided several pictures of the complex from the ground, and Israel showed the images to the CIA. The U.S. spy agency helped pinpoint "drop points" to assist in potential targeting, ABC said.

Israel urged the United States to destroy the complex, but Washington hesitated because no fissionable material was found that would prove the site was nuclear, ABC said.

The network quoted the official as saying the facility was of North Korean design and that Syria must have had "human" help from North Korea.

1. ABC said tonight via Martha Raddich that Syria needed to be bombed
but the US was reluctant, so Israel did it. I kid you not.

3. I'm not in agreement with what you're saying. Syria? What have they
done to the US? For that matter, what has Iran done, and how exactly is Israel helping us? I love the country and people, I would love to be on the beach in Tel Aviv right now, but what have they done for us lately?

Bomb Syria?

6. Per your sig line
It was the same week that Israel attacked that there was also lots of press coverage of the fact that Syria has absorbed 1.5 million refugees from Iraq, an embarrassment to George I would think.

4. Osirak revisited....and that was over a quarter century ago!

Israel is just not comfortable with their neighbors (especially those they've either warred with or who have suggested that they need to be pushed into the sea) having nukes.

It's only a matter of time, really. If they can't make their own, sometime down the line they just may buy a few from another neighbor.

5. Should Syria be comfortable with Israel having Nukes?
"Officially" Israel and Syria are at war but only one side seems to be attacking, further more at this point there is no proof of anything the IAEA is studying the satellite images of the site.

8. Well, it's a little late for asking that question. Israel has had the capability for many decades
now.

7. This is such bull!
If there was truth to this story, Israel would have come out with it up front, the propaganda machinery in the US would have been 24/7 on max volume, and the Bush regime would be openly prepping a war on Syria. Instead Syria is the one complaining and weeks later Israel comes out with this story as the excuse for whatever the attack actually was.
