Their wittle hearts are broken.

"Ben Stein is dead to me"

"Any one else starting to feel like the “conservative movement” was just one giant practical joke that the elites pulled on us fly-over-country hicks?

Maybe we are just the unknowing stars in a 30-year-long movie entitled “Fool Them Once . . . "

"Ben, I’ve respected your intelligence and incite for years. However, you just “jumped the shark” with that comment. WTF are you thinking? Franken is a hardcore socialist. He is exactly the type of person we don’t need in Congress..."

"Franken must have some dirt on Stein.

This is disgusting.

How anyone could support this fool for public office completely escapes me.

Sorry, Ben.
You’ve lost a lot of fans.

Your betraying the troops you so much support with this endorsement"

Franken must have some dirt on Stein.

1. Amazing. I've respected Stein's "incite" for years, too!
Well, maybe not "respected" so much as "sneered at and scorned at every opportunity".

4. After all this time reading Freeperisms
I'm ashamed to say I miss some of their misspellings first time around. I think I'm starting to understand their language. OH. MY. GOD.:scared:

3. Could you make heads explode by constructing a logical proposition that they can't resolve?
Maybe by relating a story of a pro-Repubican solider criticising and attacking a pro-Democratic soldier for his support of President Bush.

5. I have to say I never thought Stein had any "incite"
Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 12:08 AM by tech3149
But I will admit he tended to incite violent emotions. The only time he didn't piss me off, he was saying something like anyone? Beuhler? Beuheler?

edit: spelling correction, I wouldn't want to be mistaken for a freeper.

7. I found this one amusing...
"...Your betraying the troops you so much support with this endorsement"

Someone should point out that it's "You're..."

In addition...Franken has done numerous USO shows in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans. Now who's betraying the troops and who is supporting the troops?

8. Yeah, that's a good one, but for my money you can't beat the classic
"Ben Stein is dead to me".

9. WooHoo!!! A Freeper version of "Weekend at Bernie's."
Oh wait. That's the theme of Fred Thompson's campaign.

It's also possible that it will be theme of the '08 republikkan campaign. They'll dig up Reagan's corpse "To the White House with Ronnie."

10. First of all
This congress could use a hard core socialist, and what is wrong with that. Socialist by it's nature is not bad, but only wants to have less fortunate people to have some minimum of help from a people as rich as this country is. 40 days in Iraq will un s-chips for a year. call it socialist if you want but don't try to convince me it's a bad thing.

16. After re-reading this post a few more things stuck out
one poster referred to himself and the freakers as 'hicks'. Mighty low opinion of himself and his co-horts in crime.

2) Maybe we are just the unknowing stars in a 30-year-long movie entitled “Fool Them Once . . . "
STARS???!!! That's like saying the twelfth guy standing to the right of Tom Cruise at a bus stop is a star. They were just extras in the soap opera "As My Stomach Turns."
Stars...pfffft

17. Franken wins some of Ben Stein's money
Liberal Al Franken is good enough and smart enough to win some of conservative Ben Stein's money -- and doggone it, Stein likes him.

Stein, an actor, writer, economist and former Nixon speechwriter, has contributed $2,000 to Franken's U.S. Senate campaign. The two men have known each other for about 30 years.

As a former "Saturday Night Live" star, Franken has received scores of contributions from people in the entertainment industry, but Stein's donation doesn't fit into the GOP's talking points about liberal Hollywood elites bankrolling Franken's campaign.

Stein has contributed thousands of dollars to Republican candidates and to GOP committees, such as the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

"Friendship trumps ideology, by the way, as it should," said U.S. Sen Norm Coleman, whom Franken hopes to unseat in 2008. "Was he in 'Ferris Bueller'? I think it was a good movie. I don't get a lot of Ben Stein."

Stein played the teacher in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

I do recall Franken once saying if he ever ran for president he'd ask Stein to be his running mate so they would be the Franken/Stein ticket!

18. Ben Stein is the reason my husband stopped watching CBS Sunday Morning after
20 years. If was allowed to spew his RW lies about Valerie Plame despite evidence to the contary. He ranted about her not being covert and did an entire slime job on Valerie and her husband.
