Chris Ello, Hacksaw, and the strong possibility of Dave Palet and Jeff Dotseth.

Since August 2007, the station has been rumored to change, and more confirmation came yesterday with Ello's signing with Clear Channel.

Station insiders at CCU-SD confirm that there is going to be a regime change on 1360.

Meanwhile ... Air America and the folks are expected to be dumped and squashed on HDRadio. Good luck with that."

1. San Diego has military bases aplenty.
I guess they don't want to have them even accidentally hearing the truth of what they're serving.

And another sports talk show? WTF is there to talk about? And how does this analysis even come close people living and dying?

Sports talk radio adds 1360-AM to the roster

By Jay Posner

October 13, 2007

Get ready, San Diego, for another sports talk station.

An official announcement likely won't come until next week, but Clear Channel San Diego will switch KLSD-AM (1360) from a progressive talk station to XTRA Sports 1360, beginning next month.

The long-rumored change became obvious yesterday when Chris Ello, a longtime host at XX Sports Radio (and XTRA Sports 690 before that), signed a multiyear deal with Clear Channel.

Bob Bolinger, vice president and market manager of Clear Channel San Diego, confirmed Ello had been hired but declined further comment.

3. Here's a little of what I wrote about this yesterday
Keep in mind, this same company couldn't make the sports format work when they programmed it on XETRA (690), at 77,000 watts one of the most powerful AM signals in North America. For over ten years. And now they think it will work on the little peashooter that is 1360.
