Gore: Award Puts Focus on Global Warming

(snip)

The man who beat (sic) Gore in 2000, President Bush, had no plans to call Gore to congratulate him. But spokesman Tony Fratto called it "an important recognition" for both Gore and the scientific panel.

1. Smirky is too busy stomping his feet and holding his breath.
Gore won another award that he can't steal away from him.

3. Probably breaking out in canker sores, snorting coke & on a drunk binge - again...
He must be royally PISSED-OFF - which makes the award so much sweeter!

I'd give anything to be a fly on the wall in his shit-stained cubicle...

5. Probably one of the few times Bush's spokesman was quoted
three grafs from the bottom in a 26 graf story!

Poor Bushie: he's got to take a back seat to Gore this time. Let him kick and whine all he wants.

8. It can't be said any better than that...
...a man leading our country who can't overcome his pride long enough to congratulate someone for being recognized internationally for exhibiting outstanding social commitment.

The calibre of the current occupant of the WH represents all that is mean and small in our country, not the greatness of leadership and parternership we could provide the rest of the world.

18. "all that is mean and small"

You said it, adsosletter. Bush's people present him as the "affable country boy" who is a "people person" and not one of the arrogant snobbish elite. But he's built up such a personal grudge against Gore that he simply cannot bring himself to do the statesmanlike thing. He took every opportunity to belittle the VP -- even after Bush had taken the presidency, he couldn't resist sneering at Gore's efforts to do something positive. He revealed himself to be a petty person who wouldn't deserve to be a small-town municipal councillor, let alone representing the United States. Bush had the opportunity to grow in office, but spurned it.

""Gore was such a consummate scientist that he would keep asking and asking and asking deeper and deeper questions until at one point Jim Baker of NOAA and I ran back to our seats to go back through textbooks to get the answers," Birnbaum said. "It was both exhilarating and exhausting to be part of his science team.""

Someone who's intelligent, curious, humane -- and with a sense of humor (as my students can confirm, after seeing Gore's presentation in our city two weeks ago). Gore's a true visionary, and we're lucky to have him providing leadership in any capacity ... compared with the vacuum in the current administration.

I am so happy for Gore, and all of us.

I am not surprised one iota about Bush. What an idiotic, petty, sniveling, potty-mouthed, brainless, witless jackass.

11. Did you see where Maher
showed the snarly CNN news reader when she said, bush beat Gore in 2000. What did that have to do with Gore winning the Nobel Prize.

And those that say it was done to spite bush, hell the people who voted could care less about bush. They think of him as a spot of grease. But the republicans had to put bush into Gores triumph didn't them. They wanted to make it about bush instead of Gore.

14. Yes

It is customary for the president to meet with and honor the Nobel laureates. Except, when that president is a spoiled little usurper to the office.

15. What a little pissant. I would expect no more of the man who let Cindy get sunstroke....
...waiting outside the gates of the piggery in Crawford, when sending out a bottle of water would have cost him nothing and made him appear to have human feelings.

Baby Caligula cannot bring himself to do or say the gracious thing, can he?

16. Gee, it's not like you'd have to surrender your living quarters, George!
Just invite him over and tell him congratulations. Oh wait, you can't do that because you'd be admitting that he's smarter than you. Never mind, George. Go sit in the corner and suck your thumb!

After all, there's still no conclusive evidence! Scientists disagree! More studies, more studies -- we'll know in another decade or two! :sarcasm:

24. Animals are too good to compare to Shrub. He's LAUGHING at Gore/Nobel. He's got SADDAM's SWORD
Which of his inner circle will write a book and tell how "shocked" he or she was to see Shrub slashing the air with Saddam's sword and pointing Saddam's pistols and shotgun?

He's LAUGHING that Dan RATHER was "roved" and that he stole the crap pResidency at least once, maybe twice, and that he stiffed GORE at the photo op meeting where he was supposed to be graceful in transition.
