President Carter to be on Morning Joe
President Jimmy Carter will be on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" later this morning. It should be good. Are other DUers planning to watch him this morning?

2. Can't watch
Basic satellite - no MSNBC. G3 iMac running Kubuntu - No Flash

This is a radio program, correct? Is there a stream perhaps?

5. Well, I am probably mistaken
See? I told you I don't get that station :)

I remember that Imus simulcast his teevee show and radio show at the same time. Joe was his replacement so I just assumed it was the same setup.

6. Imus
had his radio show through CBS. It was a weird set-up. It allowed him to sue them for breaking the contract when they canned him. MSNBC wasn't included in that.

When Carter comes up, I'll try to highlight what he says. It looks like host Joe S is in an anti-democrat mood today. It could be interesting.

8. There is something
about Joe's behavior this morning that makes me think he has been tasked to "challenge" President Carter on his statements about Bush and Cheney. Of course, it is hard to look good in confronting Carter about his being "disrespectful" to a president, when it requires Joe to be disrespectful to Carter.

12. I Was Thinking
It's slip the shiv to Al morning. Oh, isn't it a great honor, he's a rock star and remember how boring he used to be and if he were to go up against Hillary, well.....Methinks Cousin Albert has them worried. As for Jimmy, he can handle a peanut like Joe, he was a peanut farmer after all.

President Carter is speaking well of President Gore. He hopes it encourages Al Gore to consider running for president.

15. Joe tries to divide
the democrats by asking Carter about Clinton, Obama, and Edwards failing to say the US will definitely be out of Iraq by 2012. Carter says he will support the democratic nominee, whoever it is. Good response!

17. When asked about
his speaking out against the administration, he notes he is not attacking anyone as a person, but reserves the right to disagree with any policy -- such as torture -- where he thinks it is important to speak out.

21. President Carter
doing well on the Palestinian question. He puts the focus on the lack of initiative on the part of this administration to work towards peace.

25. Loved The Next Bit
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 07:53 AM by Me.
When Joe challenged him again and Jimmy said he could read his previous book for the answer or Jimmy could take up 10 minutes of air time explaining it to him. As far as the entire interview goes, I'd say, game, set & match.

was right on target this morning. Very impressive.

To be fair, Joe S was more decent than I anticipated.
