Poll question: ROUND 7--Who do you NOT want to see get the Democratic nomination?
NEXT TO LAST POLL---One other after the least objectionable candidate is "chosen."

I cannot edit a poll to let you know that another round is coming. I WILL POST AT THE END OF EACH THREAD WHEN A NEW ROUND BEGINS. Thanks for getting Round 6 to the greatest page...now, let's do it with Round 7 AND THANKS, EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP:

UPDATE: Round 1--Hillary was eliminated by a strong majority of 61%---Round 2--Dennis was eliminated with a plurality of 33%----Round 3--Mike was eliminated with a majority of 54%--Round 4 Results-- Barack was eliminated with a plurality of 44%----Round 5 Results: Joe was eliminated with a plurality of 40%.

ROUND 6 RESULTS: Christopher Dodd is eliminated with a plurality of 49%.

TWO CANDIDATES REMAIN: Again, the reminder: I'm going to post a poll asking you to vote for the person you LEAST desire to get the Democratic nomination for POTUS. The winner (who will actually be the loser) will be dropped from the list, and I'll post another poll with that candidate's name removed. I will repeat the process, until, by elimination, one candidate is "chosen" by those participating.

Remember vote for the one you DON'T want to get the nomination. I'd appreciate if you will keep this kicked. I'm doing an experiment. The candidates are presented in alphabetical order.

Of those remaining who do you want to eliminate from getting the nomination? Again, in alphabetical order:

1) Does this actually mean anything?
2) Do the same exercise again in a month, but leave each poll up for a day instead of hours.

9. Richardson would have a high office in an Edwards Administration...
... and the other Democratic Candidates would be heavily utilized by an Edwards Administration.

Turn this team loose on Washington D.C. and Repubs would be screaming as they run for cover.

The last sitting senator elected President was JFK. I don't why we Dems would want to go with a Senator again.

You answered your own question without even realizing it. Edwards is NOT a Senator any more -- a former senator, and therefore NOT a SITTING senator. :eyes:

24. Imagine the day the new Attorney General takes office he files numerous corruption charges and ....
...serves notice to the corrupt corporate campaign contributors that 'things have changed... get ready for more of the same.'

Edwards would take the gloves off.

That would be worth the price of admission.

19. I am ready for a Democratic President who is ready to 'change things' & it will take a team effort..
I keep getting the same images of an opposition Republican Party running the same circus against Hillary Clinton as they ran against Bill Clinton for two terms.

YOu can be assured that the opposition research files are many and have been dusted off for immediate use. Repubs are ready to recreate Bill Clinton Inquisition once again.

30. You shouldn't be shocked... Edwards' positions reflect DUers' positions ...
Don't underestimate these two facts:

Edwards has been through the opposition research gauntlet before and nothing serious has emerged or it would have been used last election cycle against him.

Edwards' favorability numbers are highest and unfavorability numbers lowest among candidates in regard to the Independent/Undecided and Unaffiliated Voters.

Both of these weigh heavily in Edwards' favor compared to HRC.

34. It's interesting that DK went out early...
I'd think he'd stay in longer. He might win a straight up vote amongst the same group of people, but he probably has more people wanting to push him out early too than Edwards did, feeling that he was a more extreme choice that wouldn't win the election. I'm not necessarily saying I feel that way, as I'd like to have had him stay in longer, but I'm guessing that's why Edwards won, and Dennis got pushed out early.

37. Definitely! Edwards populist approach would help other Dems down the ticket...
.... the majority voted to end this war in Iraq in 2006. I believe they also rejected the failed Repub policies that were based on lies and gratifying the special interests who are feeding daily at the public taxpayer money trough.

WE need a fresh Administration led by a President who will not be afraid to call out the corrupted and put an end to their practices.

Edited on Wed Oct-10-07 06:37 AM by HamdenRice
It's an elimination challenge rather than a preference poll. The result is that the person least offensive to the most people wins.

That's why Edwards is going to win this and why neither Sam nor Tre won Top Chef in their respective seasons.

That said, Edwards is one of my top choices, too.
