Gotbaum kin's plea before dying: I'm not a terrorist! (Handcuffed woman died airport)
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 11:20 AM by RamboLiberal
The daughter-in-law of one of New York's top officials screamed, "I'm not a terrorist!" and fought with security officials in the Phoenix airport before being wrestled to the ground and handcuffed, witnesses told the Daily News yesterday.

-----

"I'm not a terrorist! I'm a sick mom! I need help!" yelled the mother of three after she missed the 2:58 p.m. US Airways Express flight to Tucson, said airport workers who witnessed the confrontation Friday.

They said one cop put his knee in her back to restrain her while others grabbed her flailing arms.

"I believe she was a little not-there. She kept punching. She kept screaming. She kept kicking," one worker told The News. "She looked really scared, really frightened. I think she was afraid to go to jail."

-----

But he couldn't immediately explain why a distressed woman was left alone in handcuffs while seven police officers were in the security office.

1. Figured there was more to this story
The official version doesn't ring true.

I'd like to see the demonstration of how someone could manage to strangle themselves in handcuffs.

2. I wonder if what really happened is that this woman paid for the sins

of every pretentious fool who thinks the world revolves around him or her? I don't fly often, but this is what I've seen:

- the dingbat who has to walk though the metal detector time after time while reluctantly removing the jacket, the watch, the necklace, the belt, the bracelet etc while the rest of us are kept waiting.

- the person who holds up the entire flight arguing with the flight attendant about turning off his computer and/or ear phones.

- the person screaming at the gate attendant because they arrived at the airport five minutes before flight time and the plane has left without them

- the person screaming at the ticket agent about missing his connecting flight when the entire airport is shut down by the funnel cloud outside

Afer a day handling people like that, I can see the cops taking her to a room and leaving her by herself for a few minutes hoping she'll settle down. I'm not even certain she was ever actually arrested. (Being detained isn't always the same thing)
