Big Dawg on Russert flip floping about Beating info out of terrorist
Edited on Sun Sep-30-07 09:26 AM by KoKo01
and using the the Show "24" 's Jack Bauer (sp?) as an example of maybe one wouldn't know if there was a bomb and you had the terrorist in your clutches whether you would "beat it out of him" or not. After thinking about it Big Dawg thinks that Geneva Conventions should stand and that Hillary was probably correct...but if you are Jack Barrow or in that situation "who knows what she would do."

Russert asks what the duties of the "First Man" would be in Hillary Administration and he says he'd do whatever he is asked to do by her. He thinks he might not want to do what Jack Kennedy did with Bobby because he thinks being in a policy position might not be good...

He's being asked about a dynasty. He's kind of giving a commercial for Hillary. Russert's being pretty low key with him.

3. Well...Russert played tape of Clinton saying "beat it out of him" then asked him
if he still stood by that statement and I reported his reply. Watch it yourself.

2. Nice try, Big Dawg. I think Hillary's cackle has become infectious in the Clinton household.
Did anyone else hear that strained guffaw?

9. He flip flopped...played video of what Cliinton said...and Bill said
now that he thought about it he thought we should follow Geneva... Remember Russert asked Hillary the question at the Debate and Hillary said she disagreed with Bill...or that she would "talk to him" about his opinion.

Whose side are you on anyway?

5. Bill Clinton has the finest political mind
there is. He was great about explaining his position on torture and also Hillary's.
However, the best part was his analysis of the Republican race.

Pretty much said what we know... Romney must be stopped in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Ghouliani will have problems with base
Don't count out McCain
Dark horse is Huckabee.

He expressed himself so much better than I can. I'm sure someone will have a youtube before long.

7. I thought he handled it okay. Russert is a slimeball....
OT, but I noticed him possibly being called the "First Man"? Wouldn't it actually be "First Gentlman"? I mean, we didn't call HRC the "First Woman"...

15. Bill Clinton
is cool with me. I wonder why this was the only thing you could get out of the interview - something negative.

Hasn't there been enough negativity WRT the Clinton name here lately?

I'm sick to death of it.

18. The Way I Understand It
Clinton said if a terrorist had a stick of dynamite hooked up to a person's ass and his accomplice was tortured until he said how to defuse it most folks wouldn't have a problem with that...

That seems, well, obvious...

He also said if the person doing the tortuing was wrong he should be prepared to suffer the consequences...

Sounds Lincolnesque:

"If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference."

I thought that was a measured, candid, and thoughtful answer...
