It is important that everyone be aware of this. In a democracy, the people are not royal subjects or servants or "focus groups," they are the president's employers! Some people praise Bush for acting from his conscience rather than following the will of the American people. That's not how it works. Just like in any job, either he does what We the People want or he gets shit-canned. Conservatives seem to think the president should be immune to criticism and that we all need to follow him to the ends of the Earth because "we're at war." No, he is our subordinate and it's high time he remembered that.

I disagree. They had/have no problem digging into Clinton or Carter any chance they get. Often for made up reasons. Conservatives think other conservatives should be immune from criticism period. These are people the want to be called ditto heads and Rush is right shirts.
