City Councilman in Roseland Indiana experiences police brutality
This video is being taken down from YouTube every time it pops up. I thought I'd post it here before it completely disappears.

1. The FORMER city councilman is a major ass too.
Read up on him and his wife.

5. See the link in post #3.
David and Dorothy Snyder are quite the pair.

9. Are you saying....
he deserved to be sat on and beaten upside the head because he's an ass? I don't know the history of this man (or his wife) but it appears on the video that he was leaving the meeting peacefully, and then when he got to the door, the cop shoved him out of the building and attacked him. And as a poster said below, it appeared to be a revenge attack because of a previous altercation Snyder had with another city councilman. The girl in the video was saying "now you know how my dad felt" and other such nonsense.

12. Sometimes when you continually act like an ass
You get the crap stomped out of you just on gp's. Justified or not doesn't matter sometimes when you get fed up with an ass bothering you. Free speech means sometimes getting a fat lip.

14. Perhaps you should read your signature statement more often
Free speech should NOT mean getting a fat lip by the cops.

18. I know full well what the consequences are
And I HAVE paid the price. One thing I have learned is that if you go looking for trouble, sometimes you find more trouble than you had intended. If you continually goad some people, when they react they are very likely to overreact.

15. Wow
That is a disturbing conclusion. You may not mean it to be, but when we conclude that those who speak out of turn should expect to be "stomped" by the police and just accept it. That's pretty fucked up right there.

19. I will stand my ground
That doesn't mean provoking an overreaction. Politics in a small town is too often like the Hatfields and McCoys. No the cop shouldn't have whomped him, but Snyder shouldn't have acted like a total shithead either. The tape only shows the last part, not the whole thing.

2. Do you know
the backstory to this? It seems an open and shut case but I have no idea what the context is.

3. David Snyder has a LONG history with Roseland.
Here's a link to the Roseland saga. Contains links to articles in the South Bend Tribune.

By the way... David Snyder was ordered back to jail today because he's a deadbeat dad who owes around $100,000 in back child support payments to his two kids in Texas.

8. Looks like he will be able to pay that when he wins his law suit
Against the town. Good Job by the police department on that one.

13. I guess you think the beating was deserved as well?
Jesus Christ...it's rather frightening to see so-called progressives justify police brutality because a guy is an "ass" or "has a long history." I saw nothing in the video that justifies the beating he got.

6. Seems to me this was a case of revenge.
The lady in the yellow shirt kept saying (paraphrasing here), "How do you like it?" and "You almost killed my dad."

The problem I'm having with this is the cops: "Oh, did you trip David?" They use that excuse way too often.

16. Snyder and his wife run Roseland like a fiefdom
Shady real estate deals, self-serving, and punishing 'enemies'. If you have a campaign sign in your yard or business that he doesn't approve of, you get fined.

He initiated contact by elbowing the police officer. Not too smart.

Read the links about the story before passing judgement.

17. I don't have to read anything
I do have eyes and can see on the video that the guy did NOT elbow the policeman before being shoved out of the room. If the people of Roseland Indiana are unhappy with Snyder, then they should vote him out. Sic'ing the police on him and beating the shit out of him is not the way to do it.
