anticipating the next gop line: If you don't support going after Iran, then
you must want us to lose in Iraq; and Give us this last chance to win in Iraq by going to war in Iran.

Some rwer is bound to utter something as ridiculous as this - just wait for it.

1. To this I answer: Ask them why they hate the troops so much
Why do they hate them so much they want to see more of them die.

2. obtusely they will respond that they have to send more troops to
honor those who have already died :eyes: Sad thing per that is how many have died since bush first started trotting that out in response to Sheehan's camping out at the Peace Ranch in Crawford to try to speak with bush.

6. I fear that is the line they will take and
there will be enough spineless Democrats that will support going into Iran just like they did in Iraq. Scott Ritter said we are going to war with Iran several months ago and he is the one that has been a straight shooter all along. Before I get flamed because of his pedophile problem, that has nothing to do with Iraq or Iran that is a different subject.

I would just laugh. And maybe say "you're dumber than a sack of hammers". I mean, how would you reason with that kind of robot? This far along in the game people who haven't realized that w doesn't care about them and doesn't have their interests at heart must be incapable of reason. or in a cave for 6 years. or a coma. ( i would be nicer to the last two).

8. And My Answer
"The people planning this are the same as those who forgot that Iran might get involved since they live next door. I didn't trust them then, and i don't trust them now. They'll just screw this up, too." I've used it already.

10. they just haven't been able to get enough folks to say that Iran
is the most pernicious obstacle to 'victory' in Iraq.

Then again, they really don't want to 'win' in Iraq; just stay.

11. how can we stop these thugs
because you know bush does not need approval for Iran, he is the decider you know, but seriously if he does invade Iran will that prove to the Congress that he is psychotic and needs to step down.

13. Attack the premise that we have to "win"
I tried pointing out to them that even if we "lose" in Iraq, we'll go on as a country and basically nothing will change for most of us personally.

They are exploiting the need to "win" that is so ingrained in Americans. Even at a high cost of lives, we have to "win" just because we can't "lose" and for no better reason that than. Tell them to get over themselves and their egos, the troops they always claim are on their side politically are the same ones they are going to have die just so they can say they live in a country that never "loses."
