DU needs some "serenity now"
so here ya go:

I've been documenting the wheat farmers of the Palouse in eastern Washington for some time now. I still need to shoot portraits and the winter but I'm almost done.

The local paper interviewed me the other day about it and that really helped me line up a publisher. Even if I sell 2 copies and I bought them both it sure has been fun.

1. Growing up in Nebraska, I love corn fields,
but those wheat fields look mighty nice. Well done.

7. Thank you
the fall light really rocks on the fields. I'm now in the process of going through about 1000 shots for print. I like taking them, I hate printing.

14. thank you very much
The secret is to use a telephoto lens to compress the hills, or sand dunes. It makes it look more surreal.

Coming from New England it took me a while to appreciate the beauty of the chapparral of California. Now I stand in awe of it all.

You've caught an equal beauty in eastern Washington well.

Thanks.

it really is a wonderful place once you get away from all the white surpremists and gun nuts :) Actually I live in a pretty liberal place, two college towns 9 miles apart.

15. Beautiful! I especially like the last one.
Having grown up in North West Texas, it reminds me of the wide open spaces from my childhood.

17. Hiya Kitty and thank you
I know north west Texas well, my family is from there. They do have some wide open vistas there that don't get photographed enough.

19. hahahahaha
I had read a post the other day about DU boiling over. I never knew why or anything, didn't see much fighting but I thought, "Hey, I better do something. I don't want to see body parts, blood and incense flying".

24. I guess I haven't noticed it because I am at work all day
and I am unable to post, too busy to read. I have very limited time to catch up on politics right now. If I were stewing over it all day at DU I would probably be boiling over too. I think people need to take longer breaks or get out there and do something. Helplessness boils into rage and gets pointed at the wrong people.

21. I want that chair
I got photo ideas with that chair. I want to carry it out in the wheat fields and shoot photos of it in the middle of the wheat. Don't know why but It may look cool.

23. Some places have unmistakable signatures. I've never been there, but it's so
distinctive that two or three images make an impression that one never forgets. Very nice.
