CNN: Versace says, " Hillary can't win wearing pantsuits".
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 07:42 AM by Alamom

No link on this story, just heard on CNN.

People interviewed on the streets had no problem with Hillary's pants.

Watch out, the MSM is scraping the bottom of the barrel with bad press regarding candidates.
Seems Obama & Clinton are getting a little more than their share.
Odd........
 :sarcasm:

Versace did make a comment. The MSM made a big deal out of it, especially News.max. (I don't post their stuff, so here's what Reuters had.

Versace says Hillary Clinton should ditch the trousers
Thu Feb 8, 2007 7:59 PM GMT

BERLIN (Reuters) - U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should tap into her feminine side and wear dresses and skirts instead of trousers, fashion designer Donatella Versace was quoted as saying on Thursday.

"I can understand (trousers) are comfortable but she's a woman and she is allowed to show that," Versace told Germany's weekly newspaper Die Zeit in an interview.

"She should treat femininity as an opportunity and not try to emulate masculinity in politics," Versace said.

Skirts should reach to the knee and be worn with a short jacket or coat, she said. The best colour would be black rather than the blue Clinton currently favours, she added.

4. this story was out way last week..
good thing cnn is right on top of hillary`s wardrobe problem because this is a big problem that really needs to be discussed. although i agree with donna that`s really up to hillary to decide. donna should be criticizing pickles and her god awful choice in clothes.
once again cnn shows that nothing is beneath them when i comes to the democrats

21. Now we're getting the same crap about women as we did in the 1970s.
Hillary's hair
Hillary's clothes

Who the hell cares what the male candidates wear? Or how they do their hair?

Oh, I apologize. They did make a big deal over Rudy Guiliani's comb over. He finally abandoned it after 2001.

This all bring back bad memories:

Overheard at interviews for radio talk show host in 1971:

"(Radio Lady), I just don't think that the female voice has enough authority."

"(Radio Lady), who will watch your two young children when you are on the radio?"

From the audience:

"You sound like a blonde."

From innumerable people:

"What do you talk about on your radio show?"
People even ask me this today. My answer is: "Everything the men talk about, except sports."

From the talk host who was hear in the shift before me on the radio:

"(Radio Lady) should be at home baking cookies for her children instead of working here."

8. They want her to wear skirts so they can make snide remarks about her rather heavy legs. She can't
win with those people, so she should do what she wants to do and wear what she is comfortable in.

9. Pretty smarmy and petty of the MSM to start in on Hillary's outfits.
The dumbing down of America continues. Its pathetic that while this nation is in a crisis this Versace chick is carrying on about irrelevant stuff like this but more pathetic than that is the MSM media publicizing this tripe.

We don't ctitique men politician's clothing choices why should we do it for women politicians? Pretty sexist and juvenile IMO.

And, of course, there is the eternal question:

What do they wear under their kilts?

17. So the leather handbag with the Versace name is telling other people
how to look good....

I do feel bad for her..I saw Donatella on some late night program (before I went to bed) and it looks as if she might have had cleft palate as a kid...(something about her facial features reminds me of friends who have had cleft palate and what their noses and mouths look like after the reconstructive surgery)....so I am sure her childhood must have been pretty rough if that was the case.

31. I'm not so sure it's sexist so much as it is diversionary.
It's a tactic they've used before remember the Gore sweat stain flap or the Kerry hunting jacket hub-bub? Now we have Obama in a swimsuit and Hilliary's pantsuits anything to keep the national scrutiny from real substantive issues.
Perhaps if the media wants to talk about what people are wearing they could start by reviewing the awkward clash between the smirk on Bush's face and the blood on his hands.

you can't even hold your brother's pin cushion... therefore, you're no visionary when it comes to fashion. Mind your own business and stay out of the sun.

And if Hillary were a man, no one would be paying attention to what she wears.
