One CPer held up a pink "Bring Home the Troops" banner and sang "God bless America". Medea presented this panel of creeps with a list of everyone who died in Iraq either this week or on the day Petraeus lied to Congress, don't remember.

Then a dad whose son died in Iraq told his story quickly, asked for the war to end with his kid's boots in one hand, apologized and thanked them and left.

And the chickenhawks mumbled and cringed and sort of sat there in horror. lol

And they're doing PLENTY for spying on us.

They're doing plenty for cages and torture and rendition.

I'll just give you my short list.

I say protest our own who are protesting plenty of many thing, but not doing anything or agreeing with Republicans on some very human and constitutional issues that are dear to me.

I get my right to protest DEMS BIG TIME ever since the reauthorization of the Patriot Act and the abyssmal, traitorous vote on spying.

21. Code Pink's efforts far superior to MoveOn's bathroom scrawl...
Cod Pink was not insulting and they cooperated with their ejection. This is an old form of guerrilla theater before an "old" form of media: T.V. They know the effects of cool blue. MoveOn, on the other hand, seems to confuse the flame-bait method of "communicating" on the internet with an older media form: print material; I mean, calling a high-ranking general "Betrayus" in a major newspaper. May as well flip-off someone. Like Dick Cheney.

Kudos to the old-school for showing the new school how it's done.

33. I'm one of those people who think Code Pink is shooting all of us in the
foot when they disrupt House and Senate hearings. Sorry, but that is the way I feel. We finally have the majority, get the opportunity to haul asses into a hearing room and grill them and we have Code Pink protesting. We have had no significant reporting by this administration for seven dang years and we have people who are shouting and taking up time that could be used more productively. While I support their right to protest and their message I believe they are choosing the wrong forums to act out.

Now the Heritage Foundation is a completely appropriate venue. Go Code Pink. Make the chickenshit chickenhawks face the music, answer questions, shuffle their feet and stare at the floor. All of these reichwing think tanks need to have one uncomfortable moment after another.

Just my opinion. All of the Code Pink supporters blast away but it won't change my mind.

38. Please see my comments up-thread. I agree somewhat with your...
comments about the inappropriateness of disrupting Congressional hearings. But there is a bigger problem: since the Top 40 is gone, major dailies are fading into homogeneous coverage and the Big 3 broadcasters have become just another cable outlet, where is a "community" of interests going to develop and how will these interests be "legitimized?" Like them or not, the old T.V. monopoly, the Top 40, the newspapers all had the power to identify and legitimize political change. With the rise of Internet blogging (even around political issues), how can a community rise above the fray and how would it look?

Code Pink is "old school" in the final analysis; yet they can rise above the "new school." Maybe we should take a lesson.

59. This article from today's Chicago Tribune references the labor movement:
Anti-war, in your face--that's Code Pink
Mostly female group colors the Capitol

By Gabrielle Russon | Washington Bureau
September 13, 2007

WASHINGTON - It's early morning and the Capitol Hill neighborhood awakens to suit-wearers on their way to work and children swinging backpacks over their shoulders.

But Samantha Miller, a 22-year-old Los Angeles native, is busy contemplating the best way to sneak balloons into the Cannon House Office Building for an anti-war protest. She stuffs a pink balloon in her shirt, adds a couple of oven mitts, and -- voila -- the fake pregnant look.

"If I saw you in passing, I wouldn't think a thing about it," Deb Marshall, a retired house painter from Deer Isle, Maine, says reassuringly.

You know it, I know it and Code Pink knew it. And THEY did something about it. It is time to stop lending an air of acceptance and legitimacy to these lying sacks of shit and their nefarious ways.

Patreus did NOT deserve to be treated with respect. HE WAS A LIAR! He was just another water carrier for the cheney*/bush* criminal gang and their Military/Industrial Machine overlords. Code Pink called him on his bullshit and faux legitimacy.
