Are we going to continue to invest American blood and treasure at the same rate we are doing now, for what? The president said let's buy time. Buy time? For what?

Every report I've seen, and I assume both of you agree with this, there's been, really, very little, if any, political process that is the ultimate core issue, political reconciliation in Iraq.

I know my time is up, but I would appreciate, Mr. Chairman, if I could get an answer from these two gentlemen on that question. Thank you.

1. Biden and Hagel both outdid themselves today--proud of them both.

2. I hope Hagel will speak out more when he's outside the bounds
of the Senate.

3. He spoke his mind pretty well before, but now there's really no
political calculations to consider--just truth. Biden is the same way--really can't muzzle the guy (even when you want to, LOL!).

4. Petreaus has been a miserable failure in testimony. I can't
figure out why republicans are considering going along with such a fiasco of maintaining the surge until next summer, returning to pre surge levels is going to somehow put them in favor with voters.

This may be the singlemost biggest dupe on the national we've ever had.
