Bin Laden Offered Truce in 2006
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4630314.stm

Bin Laden offered a truce if we left Iraq. It was rejected by bush.

It makes sense to take his offer. Al-Queda will pull out of Iraq if we do. They won't follow us home. Where does that leave bush?

1. A war monger?
A death lover?

A troop killer?

Honestly, war to Bush is better than masturbating.

4. Do you ever wonder why you have never heard what bin Laden says?
Edited on Fri Sep-07-07 03:50 PM by Babsbrain
The transcripts of bin Laden's speeches are not widely available and that is because he speaks the truth.

And we all now know his attack on us was in retribution for the criminal acts of our government against Islam.

Bush is no different than bin Laden. Except bin Laden attacked us because he sought revenge for the people and religion he loved.
Bush attacked Iraq and Afghanistan for profit. Oil and drugs.

I just wanted to mention that.

9. But bush would like you to believe that
If al-queda pulls out of Iraq, bush would have to face the fact that Iraq is nothing more than a quagmire of civil war. One that he created. Nothing more. As it stands now, there are very few al-queda in Iraq anyway.

10. Yeah, OBL thinks it's important to thumb his nose at the Democrats, too.
OBL is a very witty fellow.

7. Normally I jump at the chance to criticize Bush. But a truce with al-Qaeda?
First, bin Laden can't be trusted for a truce. Second, he murdered 3000 people on our soil and underwrote several attacks on our people in the Middle East. He deserves that kind of truce where we dovate all our CIA & military resources to hunting him down and blowing the shit out of him. Or better yet, put him in front of a NYC jury of twelve citizens.

No truce is workable. He should be killed or jailed or both. His case is totally unrelated to Iraq and he has no right to interfere there. You don't negotiate with terrorists.

Bush likes having bin Laden at large

11. War is nothing but revenge
And it ends when enough people are dead.

12. Wrong on both counts.
Too many are dead, but the war that doesn't make sense continues. There is a difference between tit-for-tat revenge and the justifiable retribution against a cold blooded act of mass murder. And frankly there would be a whole lot less dead people if Bush had continued fighting the war against al-Qaeda instead of dropping it in mid-conflict and starting up a brand new and unrelated war against Iraq. Not just fewer dead in Iraq--there'd be fewer dead in Afghanistan. Because of Iraq, the Taliban are resurgent in Afghanistan and the violence there is escalating...

all because Bush spent three years ignoring it and instead started recruiting for the enemy. With Iran's help, we all but won the country over in Afghanistan in late '01 and early '02.

War is always ugly, I'll agree, but this war was manageable and Bush thru sheer incompetance, or worse, let our effort fall apart while stirring up a bigger mess in Iraq. The scope of his incompetance is mindboggling.

14. Absolutely but also
Bin Laden loves having Bush at large. The republicans in this administration and in congress have been the best recruitment device bin Laden has ever had.

8. Cheney rejected an apparent offer
US Vice-President Dick Cheney rejected an apparent offer of a "long-term truce", describing it as a "ploy".

and what do you think invading a sovereign country that had nothing to do with 911 was DICK!!!

13. Peace with Bin Laden?
Fuck that, I want to see his rotting corpse. Bin Laden knows that a repuke in office is his best recruiting tool, so he trots out these idiotic missives every now and then.

15. The Taliban offered OBL in October of 2001, before we went
into Afghanistan and before we invaded Iraq. It would have made sense to accept that offer but we did not.

All they required was proof that OBL was involved in 9/11. :argh:
