Anyone else here wondering why the Dem's are not fighting back on Bush's bogus surge stats?
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 09:50 PM by Quixote1818
In the past few weeks all my Freeper friends keep trying to tell me how great the surge is going and I have to inform them that Iraqi deaths are actually up since before the surge. When they hear that they get quiet. Where is Kennedy, where is Kerry, where are the candidates on this? It seems like our message on the war is disjointed right now. We should be confronting their lies and cherry picked stats like Wolf Blitzer did. How come I am not hearing Democrats do this? We are losing the information battle right now. Are Dem's just laying low and gearing up for their attack or are they just lousy at politics? What is going on?

On Edit: I am also sick of hearing from my Freeper friends that Hillary thinks the surge is working!!! Thanks Hillary! Thanks for empowering Bush's surge and stance on the war when they were using bogus stats all along. Now I have to hear that a Democrat thinks it's working. :puke:

2. I will not vote for any Dem who supports this war.
I've protested, screamed, called my congress critters, cried... it seems like the only thing I have left is to withhold my vote.

4. Because they lost the will
with their corporate backers lurking in the shadows?

5. I no longer wonder. Something is VERY WRONG with the Dem Leadership
and the whole system of checks andbalances.

We can rack our brains trying to guess (probably wrongly) what the forces are that are distoring and maladjusting our (probably former) democratic-republic.

Are they afraid of being anthraxed?

Blackmailed?

Lost in Bushie False Reality?

Whatever. It no longer matters. Spineless and bootlicking is spineless and bootlicking.

Maybe they like what Bushler is doing and are just putting on a show for the Filthy Little Nobodies. I never thought I could entertain such thoughts, but the evidence mounts that again for whatever reason (which no longer matters, their ACTIONS or lack thereof, matter)they just don;t seem to be trying very hard.

Like with FISA where, miraculously, the Bushie Bill only required 50 votes while the Dem bill required 60 votes.

What's wrong with this picture? The reasons no longer matter. Something is fundamentlaly broken in the American System of Checks and Balances, maybe irreperably.

6. The Democratic Party needs to grow a pair
George W. Bush and his neo-fascist cronies have cut the Party's balls off by repeating "9/11" and "Iraq" over and over again. George W. Bush must be impeached. And I know that Nancy Pelosi has her fans on DU, I understand that, but for all of her platitudes about "A New Direction for America," I think she really short-changed Democrats when she just up and declared "Impeachment is off the table," which tells the average Joe and Joanne on the street that Herr Decider is going to get away with his crimes. George W. Bush must be impeached. So yeah, I think I've been getting a little more pessimistic about our prospects, especially since it appears that Gonzales and Rove left the Bush administration on their own terms and not disgraced or embarrassed. George W. Bush must be impeached.

7. I gave up wondering.
Here is the answer: we have single party system that I call the Kleptocratic Duopoly and War Party Inc that spans both nominal political parties. We have been had.

10. Thats good but she should be screaming it at the top of her lungs
and be repeating it over and over and over!!! They all should be! If it were the Republicans they would be relentless! Not to mention, that is way too much information for the average busy American to take the time to read.

All she has to say is "If the surge is working then why are Iraqi deaths WAY up since the surge started?"

Democrats suck at keeping their message short, repetitive and easy to understand.
