1. a lot of sick bastards in the world
Hear about the woman recently who microwaved her baby? I'm against the death penalty, but when I hear about sick bastards like this, it makes me wonder if I could be wrong...

4. No animal cruelty charges, though.
No cruelty to animal charges.

They fucking baked a puppy to death while it scrabbled to get out of the oven as it was slowly cooked to death. Bits of its nose baked onto the glass as it tried to get out while it died. I guess that's not cruelty.

That's great. Georgia should be so proud of its legal system.

6. there is a link on that page to a kitten killer getting one year.
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 04:06 AM by rebel with a cause
this twenty-two year old man threw three kittens into a fire to kill them. So humane of him! :sarcasm:

This reminds me of a time when I was married and attended a church. When my marriage ended I had came to the conclusion that church attendence was not for me, it was more my husbands thing. I went one last time with my children and it happened to be on Easter Sunday. I immediiately felt something was amiss during the special services. When it ended, I noticed the choir leaders wife standing at the back of the church, her hair was disleveled, her face swollen and her clothes less than perfect the way they usually were. She began screaming at the people in the front of the church and two of the church men took hold of her arms and lead her out of the church. When my children and I made our way out of the church, the young woman was still there on the walkway, crying and being consoled by one of the church women. I approached her and asked if I could help her. It all came out then. The choir leader had gotten angry at her the night before and began to hit her. But that was not enough, he had picked up her kitten, thrown it on the floor and stomped it to death. She had escaped and called the police. The man was arrested, but the pastor and deacons, concerned for their special services, had gotten him out of jail in time to lead the choir that morning. She, like myself, had came to say goodbye to the church and was surprised to see her husband up in front of the congregation. I talked with her for awhile about the way we felt about the church and its treatment of women, and when she had calmed we parted. We both left that day and never looked back. We both divorced our husbands and they continued attending the church and being a part of it.

I could never come to terms with a woman being abused and a kitten being killed not being more important than a choir service.

9. I couldn't believe the kitten-burning story..she took him back!
And she pleaded for leniency for him after changing her story about the kittens! If I were one of her other five cats, I'd be getting out of that house!

17. Yes, too often women will put up with this crap from abusive men
Here in my town a man decided to punish his wife by tying her dog "Kujo" on a short leash to the railroad tracks. The intent was to decapitate the dog but there was too much give in the leash; the dog's lower jaw and tongue were severed and the poor dog ended up in agony and bled to death. The wife spoke up for her husband in court (she forgave him and wanted him back) but the jury said HELL FURKING NO! The guy went to prison thanks to the new tougher laws we have here in WV for animal cruelty. My neighbor was on the jury, so I had no doubt this guy was going to see jail time.

The case made national headlines.

19. I will never get over the cruelty that people do to animals.
I say this and I grew up where we raised our own meat much of the time, but my father believed in killing animals in the most humane way possible for only consummation purposes. But I have two brother-in-laws that have talked about skinning cats alive when they were kids. I was appalled by this and they told me, "Oh, you never grew up on a farm or you would understand." I just shook my head and said that I would not understand this no matter what, but for peace in the family (I only have two sisters that I associate with at all) I said no more. This type of thing sticks with me. I guess because my imagination creates the scene in my mind. What gets me about this is that one of the animals we raised was rabbits, and when my father killed them for food, he skinned them and sold their skins. He tried to teach me how to do it, but I never got beyond watching him do it (which was enough for me). Now if I had to skin a rabbit to get food for my kids to stay alive, I probably could do it because I remember how he did it, but I could never do this to a living animal, never mind it being just for fun.

Oh, I gave up eating rabbits at a very young age.

18. She took him back is very telling.
the authorities suspect she may have had a part in the killing of the kittens. If I were the authorities, she would not have five cats to worry about.

I watch Animal Planet and on their SPCA cop shows, they get the court to rule that certain people can never have pets again. This is one case where I think that would be more than appropriate.

13. Eelocs, you are so right,
The puppies and kittens are merely practice for when they move on to humans.

15. Jeffrey Dahmer and George Bush both started with animals
According to Bush family friends, George Bush used to shove lit firecrackers into frogs and watch them blow up. That's probably when he also developed his "heh heh heh heh" Beavis-and-Butthead laugh.

I can't even begin to comprehend that.

16. Their parents must be so proud
How the fuck do you raise two sociopathic torturers like this? These young MEN (17 & 19 is grown in my book) tortured an animal, then brought neighborhood kids around to admire their handiwork. Of course, they also threatened to kill the neighborhood children if they told what they saw and also trashed the local community center.

Lovely. No one can convince me these two didn't display some serious problems long before this. I doubt this is the first time they've done something like this -- probably just the first time they were caught.
