Can anybody hip to youth slang help me out?
Are kids these days still using the term "Islamofascist"? Or has that finally gone out of style?

It just occurred to me that I haven't heard that word in a while, but I haven't been watching those political talking head shows aimed at tweens, so I'm not to up on what new buzzwords the kids use.

Are they still using that word, or is the consensus that it's utter bullshit so overwhelming that folks are afraid they'll look foolish if they use it?

1. That term never took off here!
Our teens were often smarter than their parents. When they did use that term, it was usually with quotes....you know, two fingers on each hand...and the eyes turned heavenward.

2. I didn't realise the "kids" were using enough for it to have been in style.
I thought it was a stupid construct that was only repeated by the idiots who made it. The rest of the planet got it.

3. Rudy Giuliani makes a lot of use of it, I think.
But he thinks he's so hip and cool, when really everyone (well, most everyone) is just laughing at him.

4. I haven't heard it used by normal people in years.
Occasionally, I'll hear it on Hardball or other bobblehead shows by some right wing tool, but that's about it.

7. First person I ever heard use the term was Dan Savage.
Columnist & editor of Seattle's STRANGER weekly.

He's funny sometimes. Not in this case. A bout of 9/11 fever perhaps.

People like John Loftus & Dave Emory use it. They draw a connection between the third reich & the Muslim Brotherhood's beginnings.

Don't know.

It doesn't seem like a useful term in a diplomatic context.

Think 'Likudnik-fascist' or Zionist-fascist'. Are they useful if the task at hand is to survive the neocon-fascist era of GWB?

It's all very 'clash of civilizations'. A 'style' I hope becomes passe soon.

9. I've only heard Christopher Hitchens, the tipsy raconteur,
say it. I think the terms should go: Islamofascist, Judaeofascist & Christofascist. None of them mean all that much.
