Bush says US Iraq troop cuts possible with success
U.S. President George W. Bush said on Monday his top officials in Iraq had told him the present level of security in Iraq could be maintained with fewer forces if current successes continued.

"General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker tell me if the kind of success we are seeing continues, it will be possible to maintain the same level of security with fewer American forces," Bush said.

4. He's going to withdraw 5,000, just as Sen. Warner suggested and
that will be his and the Republicans' cover. He'll tell the American people that he's doing what they want him to do, not because Iraq has been such a failure, but because it's a great success, and the majority of the American people will believe him.

2. Great! Now, about that success part...
Waiting on the edge of my chair for that Petraeus/Crocker report now. Gonna be full surprises...wait, surprises wasn't the word I meant to use. Full of something...What's the word? Rhymes with wool snit, I think.

5. LIE LIE LIE especially if we bomb Iran
Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 12:02 PM by higher class
We will need mega increased soldiers to protect Americans - everywhere - in many countries - (or not if they decide not to protect or are not allowed to), but they will still be in Iraq protecting the oil, gas, and brass and more will be needed.

It's not difficult to project.

How many times has PNAC been right?

If Bush thinks that flying in out of Iraq shows that its any kind of success he's wrong.
When Bush announces his visit to Iraq and stays for a couple of days I will reconsider my comment.
