Mary Maitlin, Mark Murphy, and other stalking heads will let it slip that Iran is a growing danger, and the surge would have been a complete success BUT FOR IRAN's INTERFERENCE.

Tomorrow will be worse, with some other performers will have articles in papers warning about the nuke threat Iran poses. Tuesday, they will be out in force - pounding the warning, with Condi, the VP and others showing up to bloviate the new and improved lie.

It matters not that a week ago, Al Maliki thanked the Iranians for helping rebuild and create peaceful zones. It matters not that we found several factories IN BAGHDAD making IEDs. (the really sophisticated ones that can pierce anything. It matters not that the UN found that Iran was cooperating on all nuke projects and inspections and was NOT aiming for a nuke weapon. It matters not that there is no evidence of Iranian support for insurgents against US troops.

What does matter is the concerted, organized and non-stop attack on our sensibilities and logic, aimed at their base and aimed at our pols.

In normal times, you could have expected the MSM to pick up the slack, investigate and call a lie a lie. But in the era of Judith Miller (It is not my job to investigate WH claims, it is my job to report what those claims are), the chances that our MSM will do its job are nil.

In normal times, you could have expected the opposition party to stand up and ask the tough questions. Unfortunately, the hard question from Pelosi and Reid consists of "If you don't play nice, I going to, well, probably, maybe, think about, consider, wonder whether I SHOULD WRITE A LETTER! ! !"

Ah, the potent letter writers of the democratic party. The scary word processed missives, unerringly sent, regular mail, return receipt not required, sent to put fear in the bowels of the White House leadership. The incredibly potent attack of folded paper! What are you and nancy thinking, Harry? That they get a paper cut and therefore act constitutionally?
