Texans for Peace held a big rally outside the Republican straw poll.I was surprised at the very active Ron Paul presense there.Has anyone else seen this?

4. I noticed a lot on some comment boards I was looking at last weekend
It was polling info on Dennis Kucinich and what shocked me were the number of people who support Dennis AND Ron Paul. Sorry but except for their view on the occupation I can't think of two candidates more different. AND it is so SCARY to me that it seems from what I read A LOT of people don't understand what Ron Paul is about - and scarier than that are the me me me me me Libertarians who do understand what he is about and think it is great - I'm about as disgusted with Libertarians as I am REPUNKS....

one guy actually said something like if we didn't have to pay so many taxes we could take that extra money and help people who didn't have health insurance through charity - OH MY GOD - after I stopped laughing my ass off - I actually could have cried.... You know we don't need no stinking regulations because I'm sure those big ass corporations won't do anything to harm us....

8. Charity is nothing more than a shotgun blast in the dark
Edited on Sat Sep-01-07 06:18 PM by Selatius
It helps somebody, but you can't focus it on one issue, like lack of health care. It is no substitute for a focused, defined effort at addressing a problem such as lack of health care. Also, what is charity? Donating money to the American Enterprise Institute that pushes right wing economic ideology? That's the definition some people have of "charity."

9. How is Alex doing, btw?

I generally didn't think right-libertarians support IWW unionists, as opposed to left-libertarians.

10. She has a long road ahead.
The police virtually ripped off Alex's leg. Literally... all four ligaments were torn, the major artery severed, and most of the other connective wiring and tissue in the knee messed up. Alex has a long road back to health and may very well be impaired for the remainder of her life.

If anyone's interested in helping:
